Too early probably.

Watching "Absolute power" where the bad guys open the suitcase, attach the barrel to the stock, click on the scope and silencer, and shoot.
Can you hope to be spot on without zeroing it first.
People in that line of work train on a cold barrel zero, eg they'll kit up, take their shot and then pack up and let the barrel cool until they take another. My match barrel used to go to about 2 o'clock high and right on a cold barrel so if I'd needed to make a first round count I'd have held off to the left and low. Subsequent shots as the barrel warmed worked upwards to a proper zero so knowing that I could, if needed, make each round count from the first to the 100th.Can you hope to be spot on without zeroing it first.

I can see how one could allow for a cold barrel, but surely hoping the scope will go back on in exactly the same place as it did last time is a bit hopeful?
No. I always removed my sights for travel, it was much safer, and knew exactly where they came to when refitting them. TheEnd said:
There are mounts out there that are repeatable, I've seen clips of someone with a fast release scope taking a few shots, removing and refitting the scope, and carrying on, but I still wouldn't trust it for accuracy.
I think it mostly depends on the shooter. Military snipers may be out for days before taking a shot, which has to count. Whilst they may zero before leaving, rifles are very very sensitive and I can't believe they can trust their weapon to be on a perfect zero. Why does my wheelie bin have a 99dB rating moulded into the underside of the lid? This is only on the blue 'Recycling Only' bin - the older general rubbish and green waste ones don't have it. Is it a 'rumble rating' based on the noise it makes when I roll it down the drive?
Now I've spotted it, I need to know

You really can, you know how your own rifle reacts in different circumstances and plan for it.As you can imagine a barrel warming shot is out of the question for those chaps.
