Is there any particular advantage in building power stations closer to where the power is needed? I presume there must be.
Yes. Those big thick cables and pylons aren't cheap. Also - power is lost to heat over the distance.

How long do you get once you have paid for your car park ticket to get out? 5 mins? 10 mins? up to the next time/payment threshold?

Now, recently (in the last 6 months) he has changed his surname from something anglo-saxon, to Liu. Is there a reason to do this? Is it required to be a grand master or sensei or Splinter or something?
No, absolutely not.

He's 'immersing himself in the role' a little too much, lol. Mostly this sort of obsession involves people holidaying in China/Japan and maybe living there to train/compete with a known 'Master' or training camp for a short while. Taking a foreign name is going waaay too far.
I'm not gonna mock him...
hehe

Thanks for the info smile

You're welcome.

I've been teaching for nearly 30 years. My students call me by my Christian name, although as I'm graded in Lau Gar Kung Fu I could take the title of Master. But I don't feel I'm a master of anything, it's waaay too formal and I'd never be able to keep a straight face if a student called me that.

The machine in our local shopping centre tells you " you have twenty minutes to leave the car park" once you pay the fee. Never seen this elsewhere so don't know if it is common.

Guy at work is a seriously good martial artist, according to the videos of him on youTube. He's good at standing looking relaxed, then all of a sudden being alert and ready to punch fk out of someone. That is the extent of my knowldge of martial arts. Now, recently (in the last 6 months) he has changed his surname from something anglo-saxon, to Liu. Is there a reason to do this? (Can't ask him, don't know him that well, and he's on the night shift so see him once a month)

Thanks.
Perhaps he got married.

Bizarrely on this I was waiting for Mrs Tiga and Tiga Junior to come out of the theatre recently (I bolted at the curtain call as the queue has been 45 mins long before) and it had an "exit by" time on the printed ticket. I was thinking the worst that it wouldn't let me out after a certain time but it was 20 mins from the time I paid. Check for yourself next time, its more than likely printed on the ticket but you've probably never looked.

e=mc²?

Although the post above this may prove to mean I've misunderstood it.

ETA: After some thorough Googling, I now realise why.

It weighs more because there is some fat-ass sitting on top of it compressing it.
And weight(fat ass + spring) > weight(spring).

Well it takes energy to compress a spring so I assume the mass increases by a small amount?

Higher fruit juice content, still not a lot but more than a cheap squash.
