There's a million references to feral children, chavs, etc on here and in the media. WHat about the good things that young people do?
Like the chap who's 17yo neice got a decent job by working really hard against difficult odds.

One from me - I got a knock on the door one evening, it was a neighbour with a wee son (maybe 5-6? I don' know how old children are supposed to look) hiding behind her. Apparently he'd been playing with his penny floater football in the communal yard where I parked my motorbike and had made a small crack in the (already not tip-top condition) fairing. I know the kids play there, but it's the only place I can chain it to something so it was always a risk.

Took me down to show me (I'd have missed it otherwise TBH) and made sure he apologised.
To tell the truth I was more pleased that despite what The Daily Hate tells us, there are actually plenty of good parents raising good kids around than I was upset my bike was slightly damaged.

As with all things, it's usually a small percentage of kids that are the problem. I genuinely believe that the majority of kids are good.

It's like with Brits on Holiday. Most are fine, but there is a small proportion who give us a bad rep.

It entirely depends in where you live. Finding a nice kid on a council estate is like finding gold at the tip.

yes Get all too fed up with the constant "kids of today" spoutings. There is nothing wrong with the kids of today, it is just another generation gap, and that scares some people. The same thing was said when rock and roll was created, teddy boys, mods and rockers, etc. the 'scary' kids on street corners is no different to wherever the older folks hung about when they were kids. If you had woods, and a field, lucky you. If you do not, then you hang about wherever you can, with the least grief.

Kids of today are fine, they are like the kids of yesterday, it is the older folks who seem to have the issues.

Don't you live in Bulgaria?

Yes, but only fairly recently. I am a Brit, I lived in the UK for the vast majority of my life. Does that mean I'm not allowed an opinion?

There's a couple who I class as my 'second Mum and Dad'. They don't like this as they're only mid 30s and I'm 23, but they're an absolute treasure. Anyway, they have two kids. One is 12 and the other is 9. They're awesome. Completely off the wall and completely mad, but they can't understand why someone wouldn't act how they do. They have been brought up to respect the idea of a family unit, respect those around them, and help wherever possible. That's all it takes.

And I bet they have had / are having a much happier childhood than kids that get bad rep.

If you had lived in Bulgaria all your life then, on the subject of kids in the UK, then yes!

Where did you live in the UK, presumably not in an area where the kid's hobbies are to attack people for fun?

Born Clatterbridge, Wirral, lived in North Wales, New Brighton, Upton, Birkenhead, all 3 on the Wirral, Merseyside, Central Manchester for a while, and in various developing nations all over the world, including West Africa, India, etc. Does that give me a permit for an opinion?

Who the hell do you think you are, telling someone they are not allowed an opinion?

Its the one thing everyone is entitled to.

If you are struggling to understand my clear and simple previous post, then I'm not sure your opinion can be valid for anything I'm afraid...

You asked the following question -

To which he gave you the detailed answer above.

At what point has your post been mis-understood? Because I'm frankly baffled.

Or are you just spoiling for an argument?

It's all fun and games except when you grow up on one then buy an ex council house in another one then get stuck there for half a decade because your house suddenly becomes worthless smile

The behaviour from adults and children alike, in my experience, is many, many times worse on those council estates compared to areas I have lived in since. Right now my biggest problem is parking, on a council estate my problems included consistent attacks, criminal damage, even death threats, to name but a few.

You asked if he lived in Bulgaria, he confirmed that he's only been there a short period of time, and has lived the majority of his life in the UK. You then asserted that had he spent his entire life in Bulgaria, he would not have been well placed to comment on British youth.

You then asked, as highlighted in bold above, where he lived in the UK, he then answered that comprehensively.

Please articulate exactly what we don't appear to be understanding from your post.

Not struggling at all, old chap. You asked about my origins, I explained them. Then you accepted that, but then asked if I lived in a place where kids are nasty pieces of work. I answered that.

Well I grew up on a pretty stty council estate in East London and know where you're coming from, but to condemn them all is wrong. My niece and nephew who are 18 & 20 now live on one due to their parents being a bit foolish with money years back and losing their house, and they are lovely kids who would never dream of getting into trouble. Both work part time to finance their studies too.

Jesus... at the end of his list of places he had lived, he asked if that gave him a permit for an opinion, despite my previous post saying that HAD he only lived in Bulgaria, THEN he wouldn't be able to have an opinion, justifying my question to him as to whether he lived in Bulgaria...

Clear now?
