No its not, the "doing well" is being done for her.
Bit like a schoolgirl having her homework done for her by her parents and getting good grades as a result, is she really "doing well"?
But she's doing very well as a result. She might not be forging her own way in the world, but regardless, she's doign very well. If you want to specifically define 'doing well' as 'working very hard for yourself and reaping the benefits you deserve', then no, she's not. But that's a completely arbitrary definition.Bit like a schoolgirl having her homework done for her by her parents and getting good grades as a result, is she really "doing well"?

Shami Chakrabarti....
I don't think she has ever said anything that I have ever agreed with.
I know the name, but remind me what she does please? If it's who I think it is then I'd agree with very annoying. I don't think she has ever said anything that I have ever agreed with.
She appears on Question Time and BBC news every so often spouting out utter rubbish.

I'm ashamed to admit (but not really) I quite fancy her. I'm not sure why.
It reminded me of the time I met you.

Imagine the London marathon, all the runners set off, and one gets into a car driven by daddy that drives past them all and deposits little darling on the finish line where she can run across the line with the winners.
You say "ooh, she is doing very well" and I say "no, Daddy gave her a flippin lift!"
Would you then say "oooh, that's just a specific definition of doing well, a completely arbitrary definition. Regardless of how she got there, she's doing very well in the marathon".

I need to cleanse the pallet. I'm sorry guys but I'm introducing Lauren Laverne to give us a vitamin boost. Shes not 'amazing' to look at but whenever I see her on TV she is the polar-opposite of 'irritating'.
God, really? Really?
