Well, I had paid for the crazy golf. Who does she think she is, Princess Di?
MaccyDs or the chippy?
Haha, the crazy golf was cringeworthy, full of couples on uninspiring dates. Dinner was 'mid range'. And fairly uninspiring for £50 too.

Now, onto tonight's shenanigans. Got a match on Tinder, really cute girl- mutual friend so not a fake. First message to me was "you can tie my hands" and various light filth ensued. Now she's just bloody disappeared. That's no fun...

No, I'm from the age when the man paid. Monaco and Italy hotels already booked and paid for.
As to your other two points. wink

I may be wrong but sometimes guys forget that they just jump in the shower get dressed, maybe buy fuel for the car and turn up for a date. A girl might spend at the hairdressers, have a manicure/pedicure, eyebrows/eyelashes, Brazilian or waxing, maybe a new outfit, fuel.....etc. by the time she gets to the date she may be £100 down at least. I always have a manicure and pedicure and get my eyes done -£75 later I turn up for my date. That is without fuel and paying for the meal or half of the meal. So yes, I would be put out a little if a guy expected me to pay. If I invite a guy to mine though, then I would cook, or pay for the meal if we went out as he would be my guest then. It's a difficult one for me, I have always had guys who earned more than me and paid for everything.

Later on in the relationship........sexy underwear is not cheap - stockings......

We don't care about any (edit: most) of that - you don't do it for the bloke, you do it as an extra layer of armour against other women who may be competition. Therefore, inadmissible as legitimate expenses.

Stockings are nothing. Even fashioned stockings aren't hugely expensive. It's everything else that costs ... Corselettes, garter belts and girdles etc. My OH works in the lingerie business, which is a blessing and a curse. biggrin

Have a look at the prices of AP, Myla and Made By Niki ... Let me know what you think wink She works with high-end stuff, so not much else will do. I buy her the occasional set, but as you can see, it's quite expensive.

Quite.

Now if she looks like any of the models in the brands you mentioned, I'd just watch out for Council Baby...

Don't watch out for me, I prefer them without underwear.

It's a real hindrance, I can't eat underwear.

Very true, stockings cost very little in comparison, but I consider basques, corsets garters etc, an investment. They last much longer. Certain colours of stockings cost £8 a pair and sometimes you only wear them once as they can catch on something or rip or get ripped off. It also depends on size. Some sizes are hard to find and expensive when you do find them.

Lucky other half, lucky you.

Just checked out Myla. Great stuff but you will find the sizes are limiting. These are great when someone is a size is an A to C or even D cups. Lucky other half. I have only ever had one guy buy me gorgeous underwear. The rest appreciate it but would never spend that sort of money or even think to go and buy this stuff.

Also if a guy is going to ask you to pay for half the meal (serial daters are notorious for this), I doubt they will spend £150 on underwear lol

My friends and I find that guys don't pay for much these days because they are seeing several women at the same time. It is mainly a drink, yours or mine etc. a meal if you are lucky and then they want you to pay half. They will pay for everything only for the girl half their age or the girl that looks like a model because she has choices.

You're saying you're ugly then? wink

Equal oppurtunities to be honest. You'd complain if you got paid less at work, so why pay less on a date? Here in Norway woman pay for themselves, and will insist on it even if you offer. Also spending £100 on getting ready for a first internet date is insanity, and isn't the guy's fault, but rather your own choice. You have no idea what they're like - personality could be wrong, photos could be 5 years old etc. The reason I would pay is if the person has a lot less money than me (i.e. student for example). But I'd do that for other friends when meeting them too sometimes, as others have done this for me which is very much appreciated.

Do find this idea of being *expected* to pay old fashioned - what is this, 1972? You can't have it all ways, equality is equality. If a woman turned up and just expected me to pay for everything (not even offer, then I could say 'it's OK my treat', but just expect) I'd suspect she was a serial dater, just out for free meal tickets.... It'd also tell me she was a bit of a princess.

And who says only women spend on preparing for dates? Haircut, nice new shoes, maybe a shirt, some scent? Easy to spend £100.
