Unfortunately, as has been explained to me, this is where evolution plays a particularly cruel trick on wimmins.

As levels of oestrogen in the body naturally decline with age, testosterone (wimmins have this too) is left 'Home Alone', as it were.

I'd imagine - from the Selfish Gene's point of view - this is to maximise the chances of conception at a point when natural fertility is declining.

Well after a close shave with my last ex, I've decided to give POF another go and uploaded my profile last night to see who was about.

Sent out quite a few messages, not quite spray and pray, but pretty close and got two or three replies. One in particular looked really nice and we've been exchanging messages since. I make her laugh which she sees as important so that's a good start. Lives about eight or nine miles from me which is good and fits the bill. And she looks like she might be a Petrolhead too....

This is the most encouraging yet from a few months on there in total.
