Triangle tyres sound like a bloody stupid idea anyway if you ask me.

You can rent a hooker for that with a guaranteed result...

If it flies, fks or floats rent it by the hour.
You'd rather rent a hooker for £100 than spend £100 on a date? Really?

Thanks for all the ideas, think I've got something to go with smile
Fortunately I don't do dating these days but a mate and I once did a drunken cost/benefit analysis between hookers and a divorce. Hookers worked out far cheaper...
If you assume that the only reason you're dating is for a shag, that may well be the case!

Call me old fashioned, but I'd much rather spend £100 on someone who wanted to shag me than someone who just wanted the £100 tongue out She may even pay for the next date if I'm really lucky wink

It does happen. I met my now-husband on Match.com. He insisted on paying for dinner on the first couple of dates but I paid for the third, and we have taken it in turns ever since. Always felt like the right thing to do.

Glad I live in the north! £100 for a first date up here and I'm sure they'd think you were a massive showboating tosser.

A few beers in a trendy bar that serves ham/olives/cheese/bread, or maybe grab thai if things are going well seems good up here and you'll have change from £50!

Surely £100 is excessive for a first date with a random??

Did the south bank with last night's one, bottle of wine, walk, oxo tower, wander over Waterloo Bridge, Radio Bar. Total bill £100 and that's 7-12 reasonable amount of booze in expensive places.
Upteen posts since and we all missed this...

Colour of the dress? I do agree that it isn't very fetching.

You think? Most of my first dates in Leeds were in the region of £75 - £100. Even somewhere like Friends of Ham (to which I assume you were referring) would be £20 for a platter board and another £40 on a couple of bottles of wine.

I took one of my first dates to San Carlos and that was probably £150 or so by the time you through in some middle of the road wine.

Perhaps they did think I was a massive showboating tosser, but from the fanny that hangs around RBG looking for property types on a Friday evening, I'd say they are queuing up for the showboater tossing types.

One of the good things about being in Norway is generally they don't expect you to pay for anything, and usually insist you don't even if you offer. So in theory it would work out cheaper, apart from a single drink basically being £100 - or so it feels like, :P Last date was pretty cheap though, just some petrol money for a drive around and a bit on some food. She seemed to like it, but she just wasn't my type unfortunately.
