Good man, a boat should never be thought of as frivolous, a damned foolish decion taken by a mad man it might be but never frivolous.

Cheers the boat is a bayliner 160 ( binliner as some call them hehe )

It only has a little 50hp 2 stroke on the back, however a mate in the industry has a 2010 90hp optimax coming in and has made me a mates rates deal I can not refuse smile

That's awesome, I didn't know I wanted one until now!

Where did you procure that from if I may ask?
Its stunningly detailed, internal wires, screws, rivets, carbon like missile top, lights, antenna, stamped numberd inside, itd like a big ray gun!!

Its very tactile the brass against the alloy is ace.....is the best most pointless thing I ever bought :-).

Got it at Ardingly antiques day.

Yup.

Another one is:
boat (n) - a big hole in the water into which you pour money.

To be used approximately twice a year and then sold in order to fund the purchase of a caravan.

Bad times.

I'm pretty sure I need this, so it's probably not frivolous.

That will go like a cracker with a 90 on the back, great fun.

For any ex boat owners out there that are missing that feeling, try standing in a cold shower for half an hour tearing up £50 notes.
That should take you back.

How many BMW models do I have already? Probably 60?

Do I need another one? No.

Did I want this one? Yes.

Was it frivolous? Totally. biggrin (One of my favourite racing liveries ever!)

I suspect that I've actually spent more money on model cars in the last couple of years than it cost me to buy my E36 328! eek

A quick question for those of you who bought an OrbitKey. Has anybody been able to make them work with mortice lock keys? I suspect that with some spacers they could be made to work but the length may be a problem. Unfortunately 3 out of my 5 keys that I regularly use are mortice keys so this is a deal breaker for me.

By the way, does anybody else regularly check this thread just in case there is something else that you didn't know that you needed to buy. I curse the day I first clicked on it. hehe

Oh yes. Although I've only actually bought one thing: the microscope for £2! I did want a Quadzilla, but having gone searching the one I ending up going to see had been abused and didn't even start.

I kept myself away from this thread for a long time because it was always full of little trinkets to buy.

Now i am mainly trying to resist going back through the last few hundred pages to see what i've missed.

ETA, and i'm currently really broke so this thread does not help. banghead

I don't get these wallets.

Wow, a wallet with no receipts in it is smaller than one full of all sorts?

Where do you fit those receipts that everyone gets given, when the wallet is so small? Don't get me wrong, I like a good wallet, but this just seems impractical.

TBF it's sold as a 'night wallet' or similar - i.e. just the essentials for a night out rather than an all-rounder.

I would get one, but I have my Porsche design one that's lasted 5 years so far and not a mrk on it bar a mil patina, and I have a ben Sherman one I got as a gift still in its box, so buying the tiny wallet is the epitome of frivolous, and as the DC5 needs more money thrown at it than Charlemagne I cant justify anything just now.
