Mmmm I'm seeing a reflection on the inside of the lens, the shape I guess.

Also, not sure about this, but the polarising runs at 45 degrees.... if you hold them up to a LED screen and rotate them, they go dark at 45 degrees, I expected it to be at 90 degrees.... though I'm not sure how LED displays work. I do have polarised light sources at work so might see where it turns dark...

You can get cheaper but not with the features this has
Loads of screens on eBay but check it's the right one, should be around £40 for the screen.

I powered mine from a spare sata power lead by crimping spade connectors to it

Designed mainly for indoor use, but seems to cope OK with a light breeze.

After reading the Dash Cam thread, I ended up ordering a Mobius ActionCam, put the two together and you get;

True - I have no illusions they're the best sunnies ever, but you're not paying for branding and they are proper sunglasses rather more than a fashion statement.

I shan't be wearing mine daily, but in situations where I want sun protection I can risk losing, e.g. skiing or otherwise arsing about, I think they're ideal.

Dead easy to fly and if you use GPS mode they can fly themselves, you just point them in whatever direction you want them to go in etc... They hover etc themselves too and return to their launch point when batteries are low .... really advanced pieces of kit

To be honest, the only reasons I haven't pulled the trigger yet are:

1. I want the new GoPro that'll have real time 4k
2. I'd love to have a go with one first
3. I can't really think of a 3

I remember what my 3rd point was going to be - can I buy a better bit of kit in the USA for the same £££, or the same thing for less?

Have a look at the Arduino Copter. Open source control system for multicopters so you can build your own and program in all the advanced flight controls.

Thanks. There's a link above to the board and then the ipad screen just connects to that. The board connects via DisplayPort to your PC and (in W8.1), automatically configures itself
