Just forked out for my Royal Parks Deckchair Season Ticket - 3rd time in 5 years. biggrin

Yes folks . . . you read that right. I purchased a season ticket . . . to sit in a . . . deckchair . . . between March and October.

How fabulously frivolous is that?!

I've got seven standard bulbs!! I might be tempted by one of the strips but can't figure where I'd put one! What apps do you use! I use Hue Pro. Hue Disco is quite fun.
Hue disco, hue remote and ifttt, if you don't have ifttt for all the pointless turd it does. You don't have a Hue biggrin
Aah yes I do have IFTTT. It's quite convenient. It's still set to switch on a single bulb . . . errr at 4:30pm which I configured months ago. Must get around to changing that. biggrin. Can you now get it to switch on more than one bulb? That would be ace if they could sort that!

I also ordered these today. I didn't really need 5 cables but they looked cool and it was a good price at £7.98 for the 5

Yeah it's sorted, it turns my bloom sky blue when MCFC are playing. Turns all my lights on at sunset, flickers a table lamp purple when I get a Facebook message. All stuff I keep meaning to turn off!

If you run xbmc you can also run it as an ambilight, my bloom is behind my tv and it worked fine. But I found it distracting so turned that off too.

I'm always wary of significant investment in app controlled/linked stuff, and basically the vendor giving up with it two years down the line and moving on to something else or closing down altogether, leaving you to struggle to keep eight year old phones and tablets alive (with knackered batteries) to work your lights. Maybe Philips will do better at the long term support, or maybe the allowing third party apps will keep this one alive.

An IR digital thermometer with dual laser targetting.

I have no real need of one but a) Maplin had it on offer reduced from £54.99 down to £39.99, and b) it has lasers! Pew pew!

good work. have you stopped measuring the temperature of everything in the house yet?

If you've read up on it the software that controls the Hue Bridge is effectively open source, so there will always be apps available for it, regardless of Philips' software updates.

I took back the Aldi one and bought this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00J21DDBG/ref=...

The one button and lack of screen mean a bit of guess work is involved (shot and battery), but quality is so much better than the Aldi one. Feels pretty solid too.

If anyone can tell me how to change the date too much appreciated. The instructions are poorly translated Mandarin (?) and my Google ain't helping.

Pic no worky frown

If it helps, he tried out how waterproof it was; the Mic packed up and the lens steamed up. Also he reckons it didn't film in 1080 but I didn't see the footage so I couldn't comment

Ahh, I see your pic now!

Tried it on my bike. Video quality is good, if it struggles with exposure a bit and is 30fps (not 60). Sound is pretty bad, and a lot of buzzing. Though I'm going to try the cover without the mic hole and add some more foam underneath the mount.

Ooh . . . It's in stock at last.

http://www.firebox.com/product/6068/iKettle?itc=4

Now I'll be able to boil the kettle from the comfort of my deckchair! biggrin

To be honest I think it might be beyond frivolous to purchase one of these, but you never know!

That's cool! You just know that the last person to use it will not have topped it up though.
