Going 'wild camping' this weekend with the boys. Have bought a massive tent already and all the cooking gear, even ropes and sheets for hammocks (with any luck, this weather will hold out) but I realised none of my knives were going to hack it so bought a Gerber smile
I really should sell some of my tents. I have 3 of the bds due to the ex-wife seemingly wanting a new one each time we went camping at PistonFest, mainly due to her growing son. And second-hand was never good enough for her. The largest one is positively palatial.

But I digress.
Know the feeling, current running total in the Cjelli household is four tents.

Quechua 2 seconds 2 man - bought as a pop up beach shelter.

A four man thingy - gifted by my late dad after he received three identical tents through a mail order cockup. Not used it yet.

Another four man with a good sized living area - again a gift when a family we know well upgraded their kit. Only been used once by them, and so far once by us.

And most recently, a six man, two bedroom, full standing height effort - won in a competition in the local paper. Is currently erect in the back garden as a test. We all slept in it on Sunday night, and the kids, nephew and his girlfriend were out in it again last night.

Feels weird thinking about selling any of them, as they were all gifts, but it is getting silly now.

Gerber Crucial

Why did you have to post the link too!! I clicked no more than 3 times and now i've ordered. I have no use what so ever! It will just get put in a door once I stop admiring how pretty it looks
Oh I really like that. It's almost a work of art.

Edit: One review suggests it's not UK legal for carry due to locking, but that the fact it has a blunt end could mitigate. I would love to see some Case Law established on that.

Edit2: And bought. Dammit.

So I finally got round to sourcing a frame for my eBay oil painting. Here my flatmate and I are admiring our new "art".

Note the Casio F-91W also from this bloody thread!

What beauties have you got lined up for the hooks either side to complete your triptych?

I'm not even a big fan of hot dogs, but for $14, it has to be tried.
ranting Hot dog rolls should not be toasted. It's just wrong.
Don't knock it until you try it; surprisingly good.

Outdoors stuff you say... In fear of PH advertising malarky - I'm selling my expedition trailer - how much more outdoors do you want.

I want that. Badly.

I also want a Land Rover to pull it with, a driveway to keep it on, and the money with which to afford it.

I've had a Gerber on my belt pretty much for the last two years, flights aside, and had conversations with Police officers with it in full view and no-one has ever batted an eyelid at it. Perhaps if you look like a scrote they might take offence, but I travel around central London everyday on the trains and have yet to be stopped for it.
