Presumably to switch between straight through side pipes and the standard muffled exhaust system?
On a F1 car?
Sorry, I probably should explain a bit. This came from the Caterham F1 auction to help them get to the last GP.
The wife actually like it and agrees it should have its own stand in the front room.

bounce I never knew they done a V8?!?!
I looked at this and to me (with admittedly limited knowledge) it appeared to be an American pushrod V8. Whether this matters or not is of course down to individual preference.
Don't think it is pushrod, there appear to be timing belts up to the OHC's (the green belts) though I may be wrong. Would love a small block Chevy LSA version though!

ETA: Just ordered one smile Haven't built any models for a long time.

EETA: Fixed link

the 4 cylinder one I have is a SOHC jobbie with rocker arms. I spent ages trying to get the timing right but gave up in the end - it does look nice on the windowsill though smile

Well I didn't think it was frivolous, and it was for a good cause.
Can anyone tell me what the capped inlet/outlet pipe is for?
Hard to say, been looking around the net to find the answer but can only pinpoint that it looks to be a 2012 exhuast system, as in 2013 they followed every other team down the Coanda exhaust route, which exited a lot lower and looks like this:

Today I got herpes crabs and syphilis and the clap. I wanted chlamydia too, but they didn't have any left.

Very very tempted by one of these.

I love my cheapo Maplins one.

How does the outside unit work - assume it needs to connect to your own wi-fi router?

What's the range like or does it link to the indoor unit?!

Cheers.

Our router is at the opposite end of the house to where the outside sensor would be, the internal one would be midway between the two, although closer to the router. Should be OK though as well within 100m.

Can you view historical data via the smartphone or do you have to use the desktop for that?

Particularly interested in monitoring the internal temperature over a day for example.

Whatever you do, don't go near Amazon right now. They have a big sale on.

I just bought a Transcend 64GB Class 10 SDXC as an Amazon Lightning Deal for £22.99 (usually £29.37)

I don't really need it as I have never once filled the two 16GB SanDisk cards that I already have for my Canon 700D. Oops.

Here's one that is definitely a frivolous purchase.

I own the Star Wars original trilogy DVD box set (the one that came in the silver sleeve) already, I also own the Limited Edition versions of all 6 films and some are still shrinkwrapped.

So naturally I had to buy the Bluray "Complete Saga" in an Amazon Lightning Deal today for £33.99

The deal got 100% claimed in the first 2 mins and I joined the waitlist, then stepped away from the computer to check on dinner. When I came back I had a place in the queue and had 57 seconds remaining to order before I lost it again. eek

So I bought it. It's quite probable that I won't watch it. smile
