That pencil is very nice indeed...

SoP - any idea how much a screen used (original trilogy) stormtrooper helmet is worth?

An old work colleague (over ten years ago) 'acquired' one as his then girlfriend worked for an auction house that didn't have the greatest security...

Tens of thousands. Quite a few tens.

Not something I'd be shouting about.

Not being able to prove provenance would definitely hurt the value...

I'm local to stockport can you go and have a look?
They don't have a physical shop but if you are looking at buying armour they are always happy to help. Drop them an email, tell them you are in the area and ask if you can drop in. They are usually very happy to see you smile

Seems the T-shirt deal isn't going through. Just checked my account and no orders showing. I wouldn't mind so much they could at least email saying the orders have been cancelled.

Edit- just noticed a post a few days back.

In return i offer my latest Kickstarter Stupidity.

As a lefty i tend to take all my notes in Pencil or use really cheap biros, a situation that has never affected my wallet and that means i never really have nice pens on me.
So here is a fking $60 (plus $15 shipping!) pencil i will almost certainly bloody lose.

Fifty fking quid on a pencil, and yet i am really excited.

Nice, I have some CA stuff that's been going a few years now and has been flawless. The only thing that sucked about them were their remotes. Not sure if they've improved on them these days?

Those speakers look decent too. I run our TV through some bookshelf speakers and the sound really is superb.

Sorry, missed this totally.

Yes, tens of thousands. Brief history lesson (entering geek mode, sorry) most of the helmets that were made for A New Hope vanished after filming, at the time they hadn't really thought as far as sequels. Within ANH you had Han and Luke also in Trooper armour, now, if you look at their helmets the 'frown' or black line over the eyes is very low. This distinguished them from standard troopers and was called a 'hero' helmet. The ANH's had grey teeth lines, one stripe on the ears and were all hand painted.

By Empire Strikes Back most of the helmets had vanished into skips, stolen by actors etc so they took the few left, including the hero helmets and give them a bit of a polish, replacing the hand painted effects with stickers, putting two stripes on the ears and painting the teeth black.

When Return of The Jedi rolled around there were less helmets again. This time they decided to recast some, only the mould collapsed somewhat and the ROTJ helmets are very slightly thinner than their original counterparts.

Telling the three apart is easy if you know what you are looking for and with a bit of dedication it might be possible to identify a given helmet on screen.

Something fishy is going on as I just tried to log in and apparently they have no record of my email address. This in spite of emailing me an order confirmation and thanks last week.........

Epic, highly impressive knowledge.

Wish I had one. I've got an original official double sized Star Wars fleece blanket (with the muscular luke etc) from 78 (when I was born). It was lost for years but found in my grans ottoman after she died. My prized and most protected possession. The first thing I'd grab if there was a fire.

Brilliant, now i have to have one of them to test it against. wink

(Actually not a fan of the way the nib ends as i hold pens/pencils very low. I have previously lost a couple of the slightly cheaper 600s)

Looked at that, saw it un pluged from my keys completely and realised i would leave it at work somewhere and never see it again. Better an extra £5 and the fact it stays attached to the keyring.

Guys I was the OP of this deal.
Just logged in to gp legends ok. My order is showing as "entered" but non of my 3 t-shirts (large) were in stock when I ordered them on 1st Jan. It did give a 10-14 day notice so not too concerned.

Reading back I've counted 15 orders !! We like a bargain don't we biggrin

Cheers chap,

I wasn't whining (if it came across like that). Six for £22.59 was always so reasonable that it was more of a punt on the off chance it went through. At the very least it would have been half my packing done for the week abroad in summer smilesmile
