Had a play with mine last night (the tablet)

Sturdy bit of kit.

Windows 8 is going to take some getting used to.

Screen isn't brilliant I didn't think in terms of resolution or responsiveness but overall for 70 quid or whatever i've got a fully functioning pocket PC.

Pretty impressed.

If you use the IE app, slide in from the right and click the settings charm, up the text size to 200% and the site should jump to mobile theme in portrait at least.

Not frivolous enough. You need a smart TV that supports screen casting out of the box. And if your tablet doesn't support it, get a tablet that does.

The HP has miracast.

TV Catchup app if you just want to watch tv.
xbmc or plex if you want to stream films/tv from a media server
vlc to play stuff you've downloaded.

TVcatchup won't work with Chromecast. Bloody annoying.
