Has anyone seen any GOOD earphones (NOT headphones) in the Amazon sale?
I got some Amazon vouchers for Christmas and I need some earphones.
These are half price and have a ton of good reviews on Amazon, everyone ignored them on my Xmas Amazon wishlist so I can't offer any first hand experience frown

http://www.amazon.co.uk/MediaDevil-Artisanphonics-...
These arrived today!

They really are excellent for £30 smile
Sadly they have a problem now. The right earphone has gone quiet (almost inaudible). I hope that MediaDevil's customer service is good!
I ordered and had the same issue within 3 weeks in the right ear, replacement pair arrived a day later. Ping them an email back and they'll sort it out. Seems like sharp customer service. If my current pair go, I'll get a refund.

you know how a few pages ago I bought myself full stormtrooper armour and then husband bought full scout trooper armour? Never one to be outdone daughter spent half her savings (very frivolous as she's saving for a car) on a Snow Trooper armour. Built the helmet yesterday, building the armour to fit her is going to be great fun as she's so thin it's going to need a lot of adjusting.

The snowy freaks me out a bit I must admit, it looks quite menacing sat there staring at me eek

Just because a new quad core model came out.

http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/processor-microcontr...

Apparently it can run windows 10.

Im not getting it for that, Im getting it for one of these.

http://shop.xgaming.com/products/x-arcade-dual-joy...

or

I build something like this

http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=168691

so I can turn it into a MAME system and play old school arcade at home.

I already have one of the RPi but its only a lowly model B and even though it can do the job thats not the point.

OH told me to get a hobby, this is not what she had in mind.

Same here, I NEED my XBMC to switch between the menus faster! (It already plays everything I throw at it without any trouble)

Plus, it frees up the current Pi for some other (yet to be decided) project. smile

The bendy torch bit looks bloody ridiculous to me. But I like the idea of a multi-nib pen where one of the nibs is for touchscreens.

(Not sure about a laser pointer that fires backwards up into your eyes though)

Also resisting the urge to buy a new Pi, I already have 4, only one of them is used.

Might be in trouble when I get home tonight as I've bought one of these...

A matter of weeks after buying a new road bike. It was a very, very good price though.

I got one from my PH secret Santa.
It's pretty good, the laser isnt very powerful but it works, and the bendy light thing bends back down close to the pen and looks better in RL than in the pictures.

Good price? Tell me more. I don't want one or need one, but I'll certainly buy one.

Got it yet, Jon?
Hadn't arrived when I left work* mid-afternoon on Friday. It should probably arrive tomorrow.

(* - I'm having it delivered to my client as Goods In are happy to receive personal deliveries for both permies and contract staff, which is jolly decent of them and very useful)
It did indeed arrive late afternoon Friday after I had left and I got it today.

Initial impressions is that physically it looks like the 2013 N7 but is about twice as thick. But it has chamfered edges which means it doesn't dig into your fingers like it would if it were right-angled.

Setup took a LOT longer than it does for an Android tablet. It was a good 10-15 mins before I was up and running, despite already having a Microsoft account which I set up when I ordered the device. There was a very long period of "setting up things... still doing it... bear with us... almost there... stay right there... any moment now". Probably took ~15 mins in the end, compared to under 5 mins for Android.

Initial impressions are a weird bdisation of a tablet and a miniature keyboardless desktop, with the worst of both worlds. Android definitely feels like a better implementation of a tablet as that is all it tries to be. Silly things like a "back" and "home" button always being available under Android, whilst on this I feel a little 'all at sea'. But I acknowledge that this is a lack of familiarity.

Having said all that, this is a very early impression. I want to get some Windows desktop applications installed on it because that is the USP for a Windows tablet. I will try that over the next few days.

Navigation is far better than Android, imo.

Swipe from the left to go through running apps, and the windows logo at bas of the screen is the home button.

Ah right, thanks. As I said, I'm sure a lot of it is unfamiliarity.

The virtual keyboard is already feeling better than the default Android one.

Swiping from the right brings up a context sensitive menu, gives access to settings and preferences for the current app.
