what does it do that chromecast doesnt?
Not a lot. Connects directly and painlessly to your Amazon Prime Video without the need for a tablet/phone/phablet and all the casting malarky. That's about it really.

For £19 I thought it was worth a punt because I like the Amazon Prime TV box I already have.
Was thinking of getting one to go with my Chromecasts, as they have trouble with Amazon Prime TV streaming.

I also have the Fitbit Aria scale, and that is a very smart piece of kit smile
Waiting for a member dividend from REI in march, and a 20% discount at the same time, should be able to get one for essentially free.
My dividend/refund finally turned up; all in, the aria should cost me about 17 quid. It'd be rude not to.

Amazon prime seems quite picky with what it plays on. Doesn't like my Sony devices at all but fine on apple kit.

I bought a Chromecast, haven't used it much, I find it buffers far too much when using Netflix, compared to my PC which doesn't buffer at all.

Never had a problem with either of my PS3's.

My tv and bluray disk player stutter like fury and the sound is out of sync. Queried it with Sony who said to wait for updated apps, but that was six months ago now...

I needed a torch for some search and rescue work I'm doing.

I didn't necessarily need this:

5000 Lumens and an external battery pack rofl

I will report back when I get it.

That's search and zap 'em, not search and find 'em!

I'm hoping I'll be able to do a bit of bacon on it on nights.

The only buffering issues I have had with Chromecast were down to my network casting internal files from an old NAS. Netflix and HBO Go have both work flawlessly. I do notice that when I start to cast though that the quality is poor until it realizes I have 100Mbps download speeds then it goes to HD.

Would not be without my Chromecasts now. I have used many other solutions and none have worked as well. I now have Plex on my server streaming to the Chromecasts around my house. Love it.

I don't know what your budget is, but I have the Corsair SP2500 which I see is currently £175 on Amazon but were £230 when I bought them a couple of years ago. I'm really pleased with them.

I bought a Bose Soundlink Mini a couple of weeks ago, and have only been able to find a use for it yesterday. I've got B&W speakers around my house, but this seemed like a good idea at the time.

Just changed all by lightbulbs to LED ones so now want it to get dark so I can see if they actually look good. My justification is that they will pay for themselves - in about 10 years

I did that as part of a renovation last year.

Ended up spending three times my original budget on Zeps from E36GUY on here.

Missus took a lot of persuading, as soon as they were in and we could play she's now become their biggest advocate...
