what does it do that chromecast doesnt?
Not a lot. Connects directly and painlessly to your Amazon Prime Video without the need for a tablet/phone/phablet and all the casting malarky. That's about it really. For £19 I thought it was worth a punt because I like the Amazon Prime TV box I already have.

I also have the Fitbit Aria scale, and that is a very smart piece of kit
Waiting for a member dividend from REI in march, and a 20% discount at the same time, should be able to get one for essentially free.LordGrover said:

Was thinking of getting one to go with my Chromecasts, as they have trouble with Amazon Prime TV streaming.
Amazon prime seems quite picky with what it plays on. Doesn't like my Sony devices at all but fine on apple kit.jimmyjimjim said:

I didn't necessarily need this:

5000 Lumens and an external battery pack
I will report back when I get it.

I bought a Chromecast, haven't used it much, I find it buffers far too much when using Netflix, compared to my PC which doesn't buffer at all.
The only buffering issues I have had with Chromecast were down to my network casting internal files from an old NAS. Netflix and HBO Go have both work flawlessly. I do notice that when I start to cast though that the quality is poor until it realizes I have 100Mbps download speeds then it goes to HD.Would not be without my Chromecasts now. I have used many other solutions and none have worked as well. I now have Plex on my server streaming to the Chromecasts around my house. Love it.

I don't know what your budget is, but I have the Corsair SP2500 which I see is currently £175 on Amazon but were £230 when I bought them a couple of years ago. I'm really pleased with them.
