An LNER railway sign to go above the side gate at my house.
Cast iron and weighs 6kg, and felt twice that as I was carrying it around the Antiques & Collectors Fair at Newbury Racecourse where I bought it today.
The seller and I agreed £22.50 (he wanted £25 and I offered £20) but what I ended up paying was a £20 note and all the shrapnel in my pocket which was just under £2 worth.

That looks great, how do you make the templates to cut around neatly?
Just got a local printer to print the plans. As it happened, they didn't have a 2A0 printer so they did it on 4x A1.Then I cut the shapes and stuck it to the mdf with masking tape and drew around each part.
Where you have two matching sides then drill a few of the bolt holes and bolt the two boards together to save you time cutting twice. The jigsaw will easily chomp through two panels.
Finally, I sanded the edges with a sanding block

Bowers & Wilkins P5's.
Picked these up yesterday for a work trip to the Netherlands next week. Blown away by how good they are for the price range and given I'm using an iPhone to drive them.
left mine on a flight the other week [i was very ill and needing to get off ASAP]. pretty gutted tbh, decent sound and very comfortable.Picked these up yesterday for a work trip to the Netherlands next week. Trevor, that's a quality job. I made my old setup on the fly, with relatively limited materials (the condition from the better half was that it would be free).
Makes the game so much better, gutted that the ps4 has played silly buggers with wheels - I refuse to pay out another couple of hundred quid because they've decided to make any wheels that worked with ps3 obsolete...

I did test some P7's in John Lewis at the weekend and they sounded superb but a bit too large for travelling with so think I made the best choice.
I also quite fancied adding to my growing watch collection with something low cost but with a world time function, again for travelling. I don't need one but just the sort of frivolous spend this thread is all about.
Damn JL, they have a Citizen Eco Pro World Time with grey face... I managed ot resist but the other half has logged it in the memory bank for my birthday in the summer.
