Because pocket squares are always frivolous. biggrin

Couple of random ebay specials from China. Less than a fiver each (delivered) and allegedly 100% silk. If they prove to be of good quality, I envisage many more frivolous purchases.

Went to look for a cheap, small, portable bluetooth speaker to use when sitting out the back during the summer. Wanted something with an aux in socket so the missus could occasionally use it on the upstairs TV which sounds rubbish.
The guy in Curry's couldn't get the one i was interested in (@ 60 quid) working on the demo machine so we ended up in Richer Sounds buying a Sonos Play 1 which ticks none of the above boxes smile
OH is figuring out if/when she can afford a Sonos Playbar despite not having heard one in action yet.

You need this http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/bose-soundlink-min...

I paid much more then this, but it ticks all your boxes and the sound quality is superb for such a small device.

Given the thread, you clearly need to now buy a Fiat 500. biggrin

They are very good to, I have one in the bathroom for shower karaoke!

Sounds very good, battery is very good and it has a aux in socket.

£85 and came the next day.

We did listen to that and had considered it, but it was the same price (in store)as the sonos but didn't sound as good.

If i had bought what I actually set out to buy would the purchase no longer be frivolous?

Probably the least frivolous part of the system, as it prevents the rest breaking, but this just turned up from Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000NUTO0O?psc=...

It is a drain valve for a lawn sprinkler system so that I don't have to move a sprinkler about the lawn on the 4 days a year it is hot enough to need a lawn sprinkler biggrin

That's not frivolous.

Frivolous would be to install a fully plumbed irrigation system complete with wireless connected controller.

You know you want to.

It will be fully plumbed, I hadn't thought about wireless control though...

And don't forget the soil moisture sensor http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gardena-1188-20-Soil-Moist...

I think a portion of my student loan refund will be going on this setup smile

I promised myself I wouldn't spend anymore money... looks amazing bit of kit for $500, but is it worth $1000?

Yes I realised that, but would be good to throw it up at the start line to see how long it keeps up!

Not sure I would ever like to throw one in the water like they do on the promo video though!

Should make Mountain biking and walking the dog a lot of fun too!
