Those SJ4000 and SJ5000 cameras are great. I got a SJ4000 WIFI a short while back to use when I finally get the TVR back on the road and also so that I can inspect the Koi in the pond.

My Fish

Although the the SJ4000 is inspired by the Go-pro, you need to be careful as there are a lot of fake copies of SJ4000 around. There is also another SJ5000 that a company released that has nothing to do with the company that did the SJ4000. There is now an official SJ5000.

There is a big thread (200+ pages) over on RCGroups.com about the SJ4000 with people looking to use them on quadcopters. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20...

Still Mrs P complained about both of them! " you don't need them, what are you going to do with that etc!"

They just don't understand frivolous purchases do they?
Not unless they are in the form of shoes, clothes or handbags.

Were those markers £45 on offer.

I was tempted with the boots but held back but did get a Sony action camera.

I've R&C'd a Fitbit Flex for pickup at PC World tomorrow, their 'black friday' offer meant it was down to £59.99.

Not bad considering it is £79.99 on the FitBit UK website and usually £69.99 at PC World.

I bought mine for £64 in CostCo a few months ago. You have to be so savvy these days on prices.

I've just gone and bought myself a new (secondhand) telescope. Scope number 6 for me..

It's a 12" Skywatcher Flextube Dobsonian, and I got it at a steal with a few premium eyepieces as well. Even more surprisingly, the usual curse of clouds for new astro gear had not come true - the night I brought it home was the clearest night on a night I wasn't working, so far this year and I got to see some very interesting things in the sky that I had not seen before.

Now to put a few of the older scopes up for sale to make room in my kitchen for them... Anyone for a high quality optics computer controlled 8" Newtonian scope? biggrin

I'm presuming, from the photos of it next to a tablet, a phone and a coffee cup, that it's going to be slightly longer than a phone and several times thicker?

In my instance, I didn't look at those photos. It's not an issue but I thought it would be half the size.

Looks the same, product dimensions the same, boxed weight the same. £1 more.

Anyway, for a 'true' 10,000mAh, I'm guessing it contains 4 x 18650 batteries, which explains the size.

If you want a smaller one, pick up a unit that contains a single 18650 battery, but will obviously only be around 2500mAh.

I've bought a couple of cheap powerbank housings from China which take a single 18650 and bought two 3700mAh 'Torchy' badged Panasonic batteries off the bay to go inside.

(I may or may not have also bought a couple of Omaker powerbanks from the above link also...)

I can't think of a worse way to control a TV! Push it, pull it, twist it, tap it.

You'll be reaching for your old remote in 5 minutes!

Speaking of useless, where does one order those tile things in the UK? hehe
yep i fully agree but the 5 year old in me really wants a sonic screwdriver that can control things

I didn't need it at all (my phone easily lasts 2 days and I charge it at night out of habit) but I'm going skiing in a group in a couple of weeks and thought it could be handy.

I had thought it was smaller, but oh well. I'm sure that one of us will be carrying a rucksack!

I've also welched on it as I ordered one this afternoon from Amazon on one of their 'black friday' flash deals for £49.99!

Sorry, PCWorld reserve and collect bod! smile

How well does/would it work with chubb keys, I've got 2 on my current disorganised key lump

thanks
It doesn't which is why I don't use my orbit key. Only have 2 keys, one of which is a Chubb.
Thanks Alex, orbit key now off the list. Will have to find another mostly pointless toy smile
I've seen it work with Chubb style keys. Just a little modification of the key needed (which allows you to spend a few hours in the garage with your favourite radio station on getting your hands dirty smile

Here is a link to what needs to be done to make it work:

http://my-new-stuff.com/orbitkey-the-ultimate-key-...
And back on the list again smile
