Needed new Allen keys and could probably have managed with normal black ones. But these were in the sale and surely everyone needs 'Pride' Allen keys wink

So much want!

Anyone else received their HP tablet yet?

Ive been pimping mine:

Belkin universal 7" case with BT keyboard:

And its also OnTheGo USB compatible (bonus!), so Ive bought an OTG cable and now I can connect any USB device I want.

(Im going to try and get my dealer Volvo software working on it, at which point it would become a really awesome little car diagnostics machine yes

Oh that's a good point. I could run VAG-COM (stop sniggering) on it. scratchchin

Dammit. I was doing so well on resisting this.

Edit: Oh, it's back up to £99 now. Oh well, saves me from the temptation of buying it. Ahm oot.

It certainly is! I was just going to buy the normal rubber coated Allen keys but saw them and thought the colour coding would actually be useful

They're big as well, the largest is a good 12-15cm

Still a bargain even at full price.

We've been techies a similar length of time iirc, can you imagine what you would have thought of the idea of a windows pc with touch screen under a ton, 10 years ago? 5 even?

MS deciding to give away the os for these may well change the non Apple tablet market dramatically. If they achieve the critical mass to drive app developers, it could be game over for android and chromebooks.

That's a fair point. A retail pack of Windows costs that on its own. yes

Full 8.1 pc, albeit not the highest powered, in 7 inch tablet form. Fits in a jacket pocket. For 79 quid. Brilliant for when my Surface is just too bulky.
Sadly missed the boat - back up to £99.

I can only speak for the HP, which continues to impress, but as mentioned previously, if you fancy the idea of playing with a cheap win tab, the Connect from Tesco is 59 quid.

I believe the HP to be the better buy, but £59 is bonkers.

From what I can see the Connect has jumped to £99 so I think the HP is the definitely the one to go for now.

Micro usb port but it can handle USB functions like running an external drive, or a hub so you can connect screen, keyboard etc.

Full USB function basically, but with the addition of a cheap converter.

It means the device can host a USB stick and read it like a drive
