When I was in school I flicked the ring pull off my coke can and it went down some girls top. She was quite impressed and said "Oh my god look where it landed"

So I did.

I'm in a bowling league. My handicap is 66. Last week my team member's handicap was 12.

On the first of 3 games I got 92, and he got 235. We lost, despite my second game getting me to my all time high of 136.

I can throw a screwdriver across the workshop, and stick it in the centre of the blackboard. I am a good shot with a bow and arrow (its not a hobby) and I'm not too bad with a rifle. I can also clip an apex or two!

But I'm crap at darts, I'm lucky if I hit the correct wall! rolleyes

I got excited and thought this would be a thread on statistics, but this is better.

I am fairly accurate, or at least I would like to think so anyway.

Although it tends to be at useless times, like when I'm inebriated and leaving a friend's house, a friend who has a dart board in his front room.

Standing up to leave I grab the chucky things, retreat to the line and throw. Bearing in mind I haven't picked darts up for a few months and am st anyway, I was chuffed when I threw a shanghai on the first 3. For those not au fait(?) with darts, this is when you hit a single 20, a double 20 and a triple 20 with the three pointy things.

Elated with my newfound skill, I attempt a second throw. Only two hit the board and of those two, only one scored points.

But throwing stuff underarm into bins, etc I can do most of the time.

I recently flicked a fag butt into a spiky shrub.

I can't pretend I meant to do it, but the butt hit a thorn, and ended up perfectly impaled on it, with the thorn sticking right through the middle of the butt, with the butt perfectly upright, still smoking away.

Probably not precision and accuracy, but one of life's little victorious pleasures as far as I was concerned! biggrin

Note to self : don't mess with Matt's daughter

How old is she, btw, that's pretty good shooting - we talking child or adult?

(yes, I know that sounds creepy as hell)

Old geeky joke alert shout

An old maths teacher goes hunting with some friends. He sees a rabbit and fires one shot that hits a tree 5 inches to the right of the rabbit. With a second bullet, he hits another tree 5 inches to the left of the bunny.

"Bad shot, Frank", his friends say.

"Not at all", says the old maths teacher. "On average, the rabbit is dead."

She's all grown-up Graham. This is her company car, by way of explanation....

I've a steady hand and a good aim with a gun somehow - lord knows how as I'm an oaf with most other things - even the first move at Jenga will usually result in destruction. Always seem do well on the clays with a shotgun, and don't miss too many birds on proper shoots - though most of that's down to picking my shots carefully through experience. Always done well with pistols on a range too.

Wow @ Matt's daughter!

This is my best effort at accuracy. To be fair, a .45ACP Sig P220 takes a fair bit of getting used to when you've only ever fired a .22 airgun before!

I once bowled someone out in the cricket net next to the one I was bowling at. He was as surprised as I was.

I've been bowling leagues, with a few breaks (one of which is now), since I was 13. I've seen a few of the pros, but the most impressive bowler I ever saw was a guy in South Africa called Trevor Freeman. He didn't own his own ball. He would turn up and find a 16lb house ball that was a decent fit, then crank his first shot (bent elbow, thumb not in ball so he's putting revs on it like you would spin a snooker or tennis ball). For his spares, he would just walk up diagonally straight at the pin and stroke a fast, straight ball - the same house ball he used for his first shot. Like this he maintained a 200+ average, got a few 300s and had lane records all over the country. He was the best in the country. He had many imitators but none could compare because a) he used a house ball, b) his accuracy when cranking was unmatched, c) his speed and accuracy when striking the second ball was incredible. I have never seen a pro who had a more accurate second shot, though overall of course Trevor wasn't at US pro level. He was just a natural, he made it all look completely fluid where everyone trying to copy him looked like they were working really hard.

Amazing to watch, especially if you had seen him walking up and down the racks looking for a house ball and then using it to blow away good bowlers who had spent a lot of money on a bag full of urethane (as was the tech in the day) strike balls all suited for different conditions, and a plastic spare ball, all tailored and weighted and balanced for the owner, and probably a massive metal wrist guard.

He didn't make them look stupid so much as he made you wonder how could you ever beat a talent so obviously head and shoulders above the rest of the best bowlers in the country.

This is 6 x right hand and 6 x left hand at 35 feet. One missed (hit the right ear) - the other eleven were all within a 5" spread. (the 3 around the logo are a part of the printed logo, not holes). Police issue 9mm Glock 19.

Id say that was average. It gets the job done.

I used to be able to do 2" groupings at 300metres with an SA80 on iron sights.

Id be aiming for 1" grouping at that range with a glock.

When I was an apprentice the engineer left me in a an empty house with the task of hanging 6 radiators on the walls, I had the drill, screws and rawlplugs but no spirit level or tape measure. I did all six just using the eye, when he returned and realised what I'd done he bked me at first then got the level out of the van, all were pretty much bang on.

I like this smile

I once threw a stone at a frozen pond. It went straight through the ice leaving a small hole. I then threw a second stone and it went perfectly through the hole left by the first. I haven't managed it since though.

Where I used to work the nearest post box was on a narrow lane and I used to be able to drive by and put the post in without stopping the car.
