It has arrived!:

First impressions, it's a quality bit of kit - as you'd expect for the price! I've only had a couple of vapes off it using my Nautilus tank but it seems to give more flavour than anything else I have and lots of vapour to boot.

Eta, sorry for the sideways iPad pic.

Hi Guys

I'm ready to order my first starter kit. I've tried the cheap ciggy lookalikes form the newsagent and want to see how I get on with something better. I've gone back through the thread to get an idea of whats what and like a few newbies have been a bit overwhelmed. I have found this starter kit online http://myepack.co.uk/kits/mini-protank-2-kit.html and wonder if you think its a good one or is there an alternative kit or supplier you would recommend?

I would say your better off with one of these....

http://myepack.co.uk/mods/itaste-mvp-v2-0-metal-gr...

Depending on what and how much you smoke that starter kit you had chosen won't be up to the game imho....

It might do the job for a week or so then you will need something better, the mvp in the link is something that will last a while and give you the hits you need...

If it's a pen style your after something like this will be better for you

Sorted that for you smile

Where did you buy it by the way?

You know you can buy different tops for the Provari that are not tapered that would suit your Nautilus better.

This thread flips between far too geeky for me to sparking (boom boom) my interest with one of these again. If I order one of these, I guess I need to order fluids separately and find a guide to filling the tanks etc? Please keep it simple for the simpleton and technophobe!!

Seem image 6, the mouth piece unscrews... pour the liquid in there... thats it.

When you taste burning, replace the coil.

Clean the tank once a week or every 2 weeks. (take apart and clean then put back together)

From the looks of it, there is no e-liquid with that kit... choose a few flavours and see what you get on with.

medium to low smoker try 12mg liquid, heavy smoker go higher in mg.

Ah thanks for that! I got it from http://www.northernvapour.co.uk, seems to be a bit cheaper than other places I'd seen them. I also believe that Provari do another top that isn't tapered, I think I've seen it on ukecigstore.com.

Thanks for the advice.Re the liquids I smoke a 12.5g pouch of Golden Virginia a day...part of the reason is I sit in the car for about four hours of my day and tend to smoke through boredom. I want to try and vape in the car instead of smoke. Do you think I need to start on the 24 or the 18 strength?

Definitely 24mg, you can always lower it later. I started on 36mg! Blows your head off, but it got me off the tobacco immediately. I now use 18mg.

Well, I've gone down in strength to 6mg, and up in flavour, and it seems fine.
Vape-mail brought me some Digbys Hooligan, Mums custard and Gunpowder. The Hooligan is lovely.
To the poster above asking about his first kit - his original suggestion was fine, however he may gradually find that he upgrades bit by bit.
I'm still on my first batteries - simple Kangertech 1100mah, but have brought a pro-tank 3 and will get some Naturevape coils when I can catch the buggers in stock.

Two things to consider. What are you going to use while you are charging the one battery? It best to have two batteries in case one runs out while you are out and have nowhere to charge it.

Also only one tank, what happens if it breaks, best to have a back up. I would go for one of the more expensive kits on this link (Most expensive is GBP 45 but still less than a weeks worth or smokes and will last a lot longer) Two of each item and juice

Just a quick tip. There are lots of people on YouTube who review vaping gear clearomisers, batteries, juice etc. They will usually do a strip down and re-assembly and show you how to fill the tank then what it vapes like. If you search for a product there will probably be a review and you can see see how to fill it up.

Has anyone come across any higher VG menthol type juices?

My Mrs and her friend are both strictly menthol users but would like to try upping their VG content to smooth things out.

Sorry if it has been mentioned in the past, but it seems things have progressed a bit since I started this 18 months ago. I'm currently using a Vision Spinner and a mini vivi nova tank which I seem to be rebuilding on a more regular basis than usual, so am looking for suggestions for a new tank, that can be rebuilt as and when I need to smile

I tend to make my own fluids up with the stuff from totally ewicked, although I'm about to drop the nicotine to 0mg from 6mg.

Thanks all

The Aerotank Mini just arrived from that link I posted above. Nice bit if kit! Basically the same as the Mega but smaller. I've stuck the stainless tank on there (clumsy & keep dropping things!!)

Size wise it looks the same as the mini protank 3 but vapes better.

Mini protank 3 is a very good one but only holds 1.5ml juice. So along side that I'd get an Aerotank which I think holds around twice as much but is also a little bigger (good tank though)

Both are pretty cheap now as Kanger keep bringing new kit out each sodding month!! Also both use the same coils. Easy to clean/rebuild & just work.

I get all my coils from Fasttech, delivery's around a week & they also sell the tanks for a great price.
