I bought an iClear16 today from my local vapor shop, very impressed with it! Have had no desire whatsoever for a normal fag all day, long May it continue!

I've been using the Vampire Vape Heisenberg flavour so far, very impressed with it!

What are typically the best manufacturers for e-liquid? Have no problem paying good money for the good stuff if the taste is good/strong etc.
Problem is there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to juice. What works for one person does not work for another. Lots of people have suggested RY4 as a good tobacco flavour, everyone I have tried tastes like licking an ashtray. hurl For tobacco I use Benson & Fences from http://www.paradisevapeuk.co.uk/ Nothing special, its a nice mellow flavour that I can vape on all day without getting sick of it. To me it tastes like Benson & Hedges and I never got fed up of smoking them.

For a more flavour hit you could try http://www.vapemunki.co.uk/Gourmet_Range/cat226868... some of the sweet flavours are too sweet for me but the sweet and sour apple The Gurner is nice. I believe some people on this thread have ordered their juice and can provide feedback

Its just about trying a few different juices and see what works for you.

Thanks.

Totally agree that it's a case of trying them all, I bought Red Astaire based on the recommendation of many and although nice, it's not the best one I have tried so far!

Hi,

Newbie here, having read a fair bit of the thread, I think I'm a bit closer to finding the e-cig for me but I'm down to a choice of two..

http://www.ukecigstore.com/aspire-nautilus-starter...

http://www.ukecigstore.com/e-cigarette-kits/combo-...

Both the same price (once you've added a case for the aspire) but no spare battery with the aspire.

Baring in mind I have no idea what I'm doing, which of these would be the better bet?

NB. I smoke 5-10 cigarettes a day at the moment so not a huge amount but still enough that it's affecting my health.

I'm about 2 and a half months in with vaping and I went with the Evod Glass starter kit and bought the Aspire Nautilus tank. The main thing I thought I wanted was the spare battery. I now have a couple of the larger tanks and just use the Evod Glass ones to try new liquids in. If you go for the Evod you can always have a spare battery charged.

What he said. At the beginning having a spare battery is a must imho.

I have a USB external battery charger which I take with me everywhere (iPhones, aye?), and USBs at work and in the car, is there really any need for two batteries? I think I'll buy the aspire and see how I get on, If I'm proved stupid (likely) and I run out of battery at all then I will have to buy a second one but at that point I think I'll just buy another Aspire one because carbon matters.

And I think I prefer the look of the bits on top of the battery on the aspire one, especially if that's what you have bought to replace your old one..

I get where you are coming from, only you can know how easy it will be to charge for you. Either of those are going to be good. I'd say go for it. If you need another one later on then you need another one later on. Carbon does matter! wink

Just broke my e-go twist.

Sad times frown

The battery port where the button is came free from the base using the atomiser etc as leverage and pulled all the wires out.

Ideally id like to fix it - but ive already done it once and its only going to happen again.

So I'm in the market for a VV battery e-cig with a more robust or shorter length.

No harry potter wands, smaller and more rugged(if there is such an ecig) the better.
Really depends on what you call smaller, what sort of tank are you using?

If you want rugged, there's one standout winner - Billet Box.

Hey, I've not pimped it on here for at least a fortnight!

Was designed for use by an engineer in a workshop though, so built very tough. About the same size as a pack of cards.

As said, depends on the what you consider small, I find it diddy but it's a fair while since I used an ego batt.

Broke 2 x twists in exactly the same way...

You might want to try one of these as a replacement. It does variable wattage as well as VV (which makes a big difference), has an LED to confirm battery level, charges via a standard USB and has a pass through function so you can use it while it's charging.

I went for the bigger version (MVP2) as only really vape in the car or at home and have been very impressed

About to give this a go, currently puffing 25 Marlboro golds, what starter kit, or other, does the PH collective advise. Been down every route over the years and always managed to end up back on the weed, so I'm realistic about this being a way to seriously cut down at the least with a view to quitting.
Apologies but I've read through the thread and tbh I am a bit confused!

Been through 4 of those now. To be fair, one was droppedin the sea and one ine the sink, but the other 2 have both gone faulty. Charging port starts to work intermittently and they start to fire on their own. Good kit when it works, but unreliable in my experience- seem to last about 6 months.

Harry, have a look up at the post made around 2pm - two great starter kits there with some comments about pros and cons.

I've yet to meet someone who hasn't kicked the weed properly using either of those kits.

Good luck, and enjoy!

In its simplest form there are three parts to the vaping product.

The battery - does what it says on the tin and is the thing that provides the power to turn the liquid into vapour. Many different types from gigantic, to mini pocket size. Some have a twist button that turn the power up. You don't need anything fancy to start with, but always try to have a spare battery for when one runs out.

The atomiser - this has a few different names, such as clearomiser. This is the most controversial aspect. This is the thing that you put the juice in and suck on to get vapour out. There are cheap as chips ones, usually called CE4 (Google it for a picture) to ones that cost a bloody fortune. I'd suggest a simple CE4 to start with to keep costs down.

Juice - the flavour! This is completely personal, there is a VG or PG debate. I don't undertsand that. The one tip I will give is to avoid tobacco flavours as they are st. I used to smoke 30 a day and couldn't succeed with tobacco flavours. Start on 24mg nicotine if you can, as you'll need it.

Top tip,is to get a £15 starter kit and go from there. You will lose all taste for the vape after two weeks though, so make sure your get a mint version as it's the only thing you'll be able to taste for the next few weeks. Hammer the hell out of the vape thing too, it will work. I'm one week from a year since I last had a cig after 30 years of smoking 30 a day. I have no desire to smoke at all.

Looks lovely, and just what I'm after, but it sure is pricy!! And I don't want to insult the inventor by buying some cheap clone.

It is, and with customs it's even more (his shipping isn't bloody cheap either!). Also need to factor in batteries, charger. I went for a Billet Bridge so I could use Aspire BDC heads as I couldn't start using cartos...

BUT, it's a lovely bit of kit. When I think how much I spent on fags a month, smoking pretty much a pack of 20 a day, it soon becomes a saving. Especially as I avoid shinyitis by pretty much having the shiniest kit!

So well made, and as I don't swap flavours very much, I can inject a good chunk of a bottle of juice and not worry for a few days.

If you are hard on your kit (and I was even being a soft office type) Then there's no real alternative. MVP was great for 18 months, but the atomizer sticking out the top got killed a few times!

Fair enough. TBH I've not had one of the V3's myself, I went for the MVP2 instead. Super sturdy as all metal construction and no electrical or reliability issues in 12+ months of use.

They are relatvely heavy/chunky though.

Best advice I can give is to read plenty of advice from other posters on this thread. I wouldn't agree with the vast majority of the above having been off the fags for nearly 2 years.

The amount of people I know of who've bought one of the 'cheap and cheerful' kits recommended above and have give up on it after a week due to crap battery life, leaking clearomizers or just a piss poor performance is huge.

Spend a bit more (£25-30) and get one of the much better quality kits available and you increase your chances of kicking the fags no end IME.

Very subjective though. I personally vape RY4 as can't stand any of the fruity/desert flavours. Far too sweet for my tastes

You do need to try as many flavours as you can to find the right one, although it's a pain in the arse having to either drip or keep cleaning clearos/coils though.
