Yup, I thought I'd like the caramels but they're a bit much for all day vaping. I find menthol works for me.

Aye, the right menthol can be great. I don't even mind it mixed with other juices.

I previously tried giving up with Skycigs. Not wishing to keep replacing the cartridges I ended up refilling them with what I can only assume was dodgy liquid that I picked up from someone's house. They quickly got a bit rank, leaked and the effect sent me a little bit loopy so I went back to smoking Pueblo rollies for a year or so. Mmmm, Pueblo.

Last Saturday I visited a shop in Elswick and purchased what I think is an Ego 650. Lambert and Butler - flavour juice. It seems altogether more effective; more powerful, although a lot less discreet. I've high hopes that I won't need to go back to the white-hot smoke in the lungs business.

Guys - please don't bomb me with Science. I don't understand all the lingo (and without being rude I don't really want to learn).

What is a good e-cig for up to £200. I don't care if it's loads less than that. I just want something thats good and which just works.

I'm currently using Kanger Evods. They are okay, but sometimes the tanks leak and the batteries don't last that long. The tanks are also pretty small. And the wick part had a habit of getting gunned up. I burn it over every other day, but generally this is a pain.

So yes - whats the best I could get. Thanks

Hi,

Newbie here, having read a fair bit of the thread, I think I'm a bit closer to finding the e-cig for me but I'm down to a choice of two..

http://www.ukecigstore.com/aspire-nautilus-starter...

http://www.ukecigstore.com/e-cigarette-kits/combo-...

Both the same price (once you've added a case for the aspire) but no spare battery with the aspire.

Baring in mind I have no idea what I'm doing, which of these would be the better bet?

NB. I smoke 5-10 cigarettes a day at the moment so not a huge amount but still enough that it's affecting my health.
I think there may be some confusion here. The first link says "aspire-nautilus-starter-kit" but it actually links to an Aspire Starter Kit - K1 Glassomizer + CF G-Power. The K1 is new and I have not seen any reviews of it so cannot comment.
http://www.aspirecig.com/aspire-kit/aspire-kit167....

People referring to the Nautilus mini starter kit are referring to this which is the premium kit.
http://www.ukecigstore.com/aspire-nautilus-premium...

The K1 kit does look a more compact and pocket friendly kit and if you did buy a bigger battery in the future would make a great back up.

My personal opinion, money no object would be http://www.ukecigstore.com/aspire-nautilus-premium... I have two of them, still half your £200 budget

Or you could just buy the tank, screw it onto your battery and see how you go. If you like it get a bigger battery. I have two of the smaller tanks and two of the bigger originals, none leak.

Thanks - that looks fine.

I only pulled that figure out because I'd read about prvari and other bits. And this is still a lot cheaper than smoking 40 a day.

Couple of quick questions, say I went with the http://www.ukecigstore.com/aspire-nautilus-premium...

how long do the batteries last on a charge, equate to cigarettes, ie 20 tabs etc
How long do the coils last
How often do you have to strip and clean it
Is it worth having two sets, or just certain bits?

Cheers in advance...

Can I assume using these shrinks your hands then hehe

Back to the questions please...

Also are there any smaller ones that perform or do you have to have the full Dixon of Dock green truncheon version...

The K1 suggested above by someone looks a bit more compact, but you still have the atomiser sticking out, most batteries are concealed by your hand.
http://www.ukecigstore.com/aspire-nautilus-starter...

You could just go for the K1 and look for a small battery and perhaps carry a spare

how long do the batteries last on a charge, equate to cigarettes, ie 20 tabs etc I don't know as I tend to use two or three different things. But perhaps a day or two depending how much you use it.
How long do the coils last I tend to change mine once a week, but likewise it depends how much you use it
How often do you have to strip and clean it some of mine have never been stripped and cleaned
Is it worth having two sets, or just certain bits? some people have smashed the glass bits but you can buy stainless steel replacements if you are at risk of dropping it.

Cheers in advance...

I'm using an Aspire BDC atomiser and an 1100 battery from e-cigwigard, probably cost thirty quid all in, doesn't leak, fits in my pocket and has seen me in ciggie free since Christmas.

Not the best by a long shot but it works and the bits are cheap enough to bin if anything breaks,

I'll do my best to answer them based on my two years of vaping.

1. I used to smoke 20 a day. A 900mAh battery would last me about two days. So 40 fags worth. This is highly variable, as I started vaping much more than that to begin, and settled down over a month or two. The resistance of the atomizer or the voltage you run has a fairly big impact too.

2. Coils are a funny one. I've had some last me two months continuous use, and others from the same pack last a couple of days. I'd say a replacement a week/fortnight is probably average.

3. Sorry, you'll have to repeat that. Cleaning? When the mouthpiece looks a bit stty it'll get a wipe with a baby wipe. Full strip down etc. I haven't bothered in about 23 months!

4. Definitely two batteries. Even now I still have a spare ego batt somewhere reasonably quick to find even though I have multiple sets of rechargeables for my billet box. Atomizer heads definitely (as they're a consumable I tend to buy ten at a time every few months). Most glass atomisers also come with a steel sleeve, a cheap spare to safeguard against proper breakage is advisable.

However, all the above is generally different now I'm converted fully to vaping. The answers were different we have I started, and I spent a fair amount of cash (much, much less than I would have done on fags) buying different bits just to try them. My first ego starter kit had two batteries and two ce4 atomizer. That and a shed load of different juices to try let me know two things - they vaping works, and what I like. After that is when shinyitis kicked in and things like gourmet liquids entered the equation.

Some of us or clearly less hygienic than others...smile

I clean my tank/mouthpiece probably once a week in lukewarm water. Takes about 2 minutes.

Clean it? Meh, if it's bubbling I'll give it a wipe other than that mine's never cleaned.

As my old aunt used to say, "you have to eat a peck of mud before you die" biggrin

I'm not that unhygienic, the mouthpiece gets a decent clean every couple of days.

The rest of the thing is fine. After all, when was the last time you washed your pen?

So have decided to upgrade. Previously have avoided the whole minutiae of the business, just had an ego-tank kit which has lasted a couple of years. Just decided to upgrade, as the batteries are starting to be st, and it's leaking a bit now.

So - have gone for the 5ml Aspire Nautilus BDC clearomiser (+ pack of 5 spare coils) and the nemesis mechnical mod with 3 x 1860 batteries and charging cradle. I've got a friend coming over on friday to show me how to wind my own coils, but until then, I should be good. Arrives tomorrow (hopefully). Quite excited!

Make all the excuses you want, you still disgust me.
