I know this is the 'pro-vape' thread, but I'm wondering if anyone has stories of kicking the analogue ciggies by vaping and then kicking the vaping soon after.

I'm using the vaping to break the habit of actually smoking, not just the smokes but that actual act of going for/having a smoke, and I think after 3 weeks I'm getting there. The next goal is to drop the vaping. I'm currently on 18mg juice and it seems to be fine - I suppose I'll drop down to 12mg, then 6 mg etc... and wean myself off the nicotine.
I know someone who did just that in a matter of months.

Im down to 6mg and 3mg and mixing them a bit, so my next juice order went in all 3mg.

Well, I'm not quite sure what's happened, but it appears my 50w iStick has fried the arse out of the 1.2ohm coil in my Subtank in a burst of light/heat and a rather worrying amount of smoke! I'd been using it on my Sigelei 50w at around 18w, but when the battery ran out I swapped it onto my iStick as I was on my way home. Now, the iStick had been running at 19w with my Atlantis tank no bother, but when I put the Subtank on it at the same power, the resistance of the coil was reading 0.3ohms, then suddenly jumped back up to 1.3, then when I fired it again the coil went pop and bits of burnt cotton wound up in the juice.

All very odd, think I'll keep the Subtank on the Sigelei and just carry a spare battery with me!

I am a bit confused guys regarding the tollerance of coils and wicks and the wattage you are running your equipment at.
On my Kayfun if I have a coil running at 1.5 I cannot take my wattage above 12w as the wick would burn, so am wondering how you manage to run at such high wattage without burning.

For me, temp limiting. It's only firing higher when it can...

Airflow basically - the Kayfun is designed for slow mouth to lung drags, subtank is designed for lung inhales. I tend to run my Lemo on 1.4/1.6ohm coils at 14-15w, which is nearly 5v - gets too warm above that.

It means you are firing at 14watts the equivalent of 2.8volts. Its reading you are using a 0.5ohm coil in your Atlantis and you need to charge your battery hehe

Nice one! Although I think my cig saving would be spent on vapey stuff

Thanks for the explanation, makes sense now.
Read a bit about this and seems it all has to do with airflow.
Might give the subtank a go, getting a Magma as its been posted a few pages before and fancy one.

You say that but its a drop in the ocean to what I was spending on smoking. I have quite a few batteries and tanks that I like and use every day.

£12 of juice a week an a £2 coil. I was spending £80 on cigs a week.

Good job Cotty, a question for you as you use the Aspire Nautilus.
My sister in law has one and has been getting a lot of gurgling issues and swallowing juice, also these last couple of days its leaked all over her istick which has stopped working ( only 3 weeks old) I presume its shorted out.
Any pointers why this has happened as she is so pissed she is thinking of packing this all in.

Dentist felt the need to warn me about sugary juices today, saying one of her patients had unusual decay behind his front teeth - not convinced, personally.

I'm sure cotty will know better than me but I've found that keeping the thing upright stops the gurgling/spitting.

No she def keeps it upright, only thing I am aware she does is vape at very low wattage about 7.5 to 8 if I recall.

The Nautilus likes being used. I have two of the original 5ml Nautilus and never had a leaking problem. When I switched to the mini's I stopped using the 5ml versions and found after a couple of weeks of non activity they leaked through the 510 connection. I never had a problem with the mini's but now im finding juice on the 510 connection. I had one on a 20w istick that was hunting up and down for the coil ohm. Took it apart and cleaned all the contacts with a cotton bud and works fine.

I have a cheap jewellery cleaner that I run mine through
