How often do people change the wicks and coils on their builds?

Sway mentioned about the coils becoming gunked up and temp control can help control that. In my experience it's the flavoring used in the juices causing the gunk build up.

I only vape my own home made juice which is nicotine, PG and vg and that's it. No added flavoring. With this mix whether I run sub ohm or around 1 ohm, my coil is never gunked up and I change the wick about once a fortnight.

Watched that last night, I was wondering why the hell would he run it at 60w? He done likewise with the Yihi as well - of course it shouldn't jump out of TC, but does it really need full power at all times? I'd Imagine even 30w would see it hitting temp pretty quickly? Tubbyengineer on POTV has a VT and I haven't heard him complain about it.

Yeah I can't see me taking mine to 60w very often. Just had the istick at 50w and my tanks red hot! I've got a few of these finned 22mm heat sinks coming this week so will see if they help!

Anybody using the Arctic Horizon tank here? Jeez this thing needs some watts to get going!! 0.2ohm coil fitted (reading 0.3 on the istick though) even at 50w it's not even breaking a sweat!!! I think a 0.5ohm coil will be better here!

It's gurgling like hell though, Air holes wide open (4 of em!!) I wonder if it needs more watts to stop the gurgling? I'm maxed out at 50w so can't go any higher

I change flavours a lot so end up cleaning out a tank or two daily then rewicking but as long as the coils are firing ok I just dry burn them and they're good to go. I have been experimenting with different types of wire though, latest was a triple 28 wire in the Taifun with a new wicking method, came out at 0.6ohms and there's a HUGE jump in flavour & vapour with this build!

Not one dry hit either at 18-20w smile

A bit pointless testing at 60W, at the price you paid Grif you got a bargain.
Decided to wait a short while as my postman is starting to give me a weird look with parcels arriving nearly every day and so is is my Mrs :-).
Got a spare plastic tank today for my kayfun 2.1 from fasttech, arrived all smashed up.
Also got my concentrates and mixed up what is supposed to be a Halo Tribeca clone, keeping fingers crossed as am vaping Tribeca mostly and at over £20 for 30ml inc delivery its a bit on the steep side.

It's gone into restocking now frown I knew I should have cancelled the FT order and got the £35 one from GB!!! Typical!

One of my drippers arrived, it's the Velocity clone, these clones have come along loads in the last year!! Excellent quality!

Adjustable air flow works great, can have it closed right down with just the 4 small holes open or everything open wide (but that's a bit too full on for me! Been coughing my guts up trying to lung hit!!

2 post & 4 hole design so you can get some nice thick wire in here, I'll try that Clapton wire later smile It's got a wide bore drip tip fitted here and comes with a 510 drip tip adapter so you can use your own.

Has anyone used the Kbox with Kanger Sub? I'm thinking of changing my Sig 30W for Kbox 40.
Not really for building tbh, I'd buy pre-made coils. Any opinions?

Considering the KBox's limitations, a lot of people like it. Personally I'd spend the couple of quid extra and get the Subox kit.

MyEpack have said the Sigelei 75w temp control device has been delayed as Sigelei are making changes to it frown
I was hoping it was going to be released early next week - got an unexpected £100 in my wages this month, might just buy something else? Love the look of the Hcigar VT40, but would prefer more than 40W though http://www.vapegeek.co.uk/VT-40-box-mod-Hcigar-989...

YiHi mini m class are starting to show up at decent prices second hand - decisions, decisions...

Yes the Hcigar one is one I have been keeping an eye on, they do good quality stuff and was reading on the forums about its chip and is definitely a genuine one.
Bought my Hcigar Kayfun from Vapegeek, first class bloke.

Once you use temp limiting, you'll quickly realise you don't need very many watts at all...

I'm currently using 15J at a temp limit of 420f. Subtank mini on the two hole airflow (so easy direct lung inhales). Hits the limit pretty much as soon as I hit the button, using the 'powerful' power ramp.

So it's putting in approx 20W for less than a second, then anything up to 15W to maintain the temp as evaporation and airflow are trying to reduce it...

Quite like the look of that too, thanks. Seems to be £50 ish for the whole kit inc tank?
Sounds cheap to me

From here http://www.vapeinc.com/collections/variable-power-... if you put this code POTV15 when you check out it will knock off 15%.
Remember you have to buy a battery for that.

Thanks TX, damn firewall wont let me have a good look.
Will my Subtank with normal pre-built colis work ok? I get the burnt taste at 28-30W on my Sig.

Yes but as far as burnt taste it shall still happen as all you are doing is changing tank from one battery to another ( if I understood you correctly).
I do not use prebuilt and do not go up that high, my Kanger min subtank 0.8 ohms is set at 22w, anything above that get the occasional dry hit.
Try turning the wattage a bit down and should sort the burnt taste.

Thanks TX, any advantage to getting a 40w subo other than the fact that I like new shiney toys?

Would save my money (I'm one to talk) and get a temp control mod like the ones that have been mentioned above, in theory you should not get dry hits with them.

I like the TC stuff but as I'm not building coils I'm guessing the Kanger ones wont be any good, don't the TC units need nickel coils?
