MyEpack reporting that the Sigelei 75w temp limiting device has been put back for 2-3 weeks - they're changing the chip, I think it's to include an atty lock function for temp limiting to make things more stable? So a quality, affordable temp limiting device is a few weeks away yet.
There was/is a Vape expo in Harrogate this weekend and that's where MyEpack got their info; a fellow POTV poster said he got to try a prototype Sig 75w and was disappointed at the movement in the twin magnetic doors, hopefully they sort that. But he commented positively on the Sig 150w temp device.

0.2 on the VS at 40w will only be 2.82v, whereas the mech will be 4.2v reducing - more importantly, the mech at that resistance will be drawing 21 amps! So you'll need top quality batteries in the mech.
I'd be seriously hacked off spending that kind of money for it to have a chip in the finish.
Yeah not too happy, I'm going to email them later mainly so they're aware incase there is an issue with it. I've noticed a few have said about the coating but not on a brand new one!! The shark skin should be here Monday....pink to throw the missus and pass it off as the istick I'd be seriously hacked off spending that kind of money for it to have a chip in the finish.
If she sees a new mod on the table I'm in deep st again Got a big box of polybushes coming from Neos later, thats gonna be a tricky one! All my hiding places are full
Just charged up a Sony VTC5 & Purple Efest 35A so we're good
Where do you get the calculations Steve? Is there a decent app or chart to look at?
I use http://www.steam-engine.org/ app on android, not sure if they do an app for your Apple kit? Browser link does exactly the same as the app anyhoo. I've found it accurate to tenths of an ohm for coil making, and useful for drain on a specific battery/coil build for mechs and regulated devices - cracking resource.

Question for you temp control guys
I've tried (and failed!!!) to do a nickel build in the rose, gave up after an hour as it keeps saying check atomizer so stuck a build in the Taifun gt2, first go and its fine
What temp should these be set at before they burn the wicks? Is this about right? Also ohms, should they be lower/higher or about right?
Vaping at 30w which was impossible before worth Kanthal, maybe 17-18w max with short pulls, even then it was getting a slight burnt taste so pulled it back to 14/15w and that's about as high as I'd usually go as I prefer a longer 6-7 second pull.
Absolutely no issues here at 30w!!!! This is nuts, brain can't compute!! Should be burn city here but it's working great!! The mods getting a bit warm though at 30w, is that normal?

My subtank with prebuilt nickel coils shows between 0.12 and (currently) 0.16 ohms. As always, the key is to 'lock' the resistance reading when both mod and coil are the same temp - one review I saw recommended at least thirty minutes post test fire if building your own coils.
I run a max temp of 410f, don't seem to get any scorching of organic cotton with that, although difficult to tell when running Red Astair!
Glad you're enjoying it - there'll be more than one TL evangelist soon!

Thanks mate, I'll watch a few more YouTube vids now. Very impressed with this!! Just cleaned the tank out and the wicks completely burn free I run a max temp of 410f, don't seem to get any scorching of organic cotton with that, although difficult to tell when running Red Astair!

I'm seriously tempted to jump on that rDNA40 deal on UKecig on payday...
I'm not sure if the offers only on for so long or if they've dropped down permanently? I recon the rDNA would be better than this especially as you can change the battery, but wanted something small. I fancied the DNA30 for ages, just pot luck I checked on there and saw this one Just got to get used to the display on the bottom now but happy with it so far

How do you lock the resistance on this dna40? I click 5 times then hold + & - to change the temp but can't see anything there that locks the resistance? The way the temp chips work is to assume the mod is at room temp. It then measures the change in resistance and runs an algorithm to calculate the coil temp based on the change. If it doesn't have a solid reading for the coil resistance, then I can't see how it'll calculate the real delta.
Perhaps it self sets upon switching on, but if so, then I wouldn't switch on until thirty minutes after the coil was last fired.

Struggling with this one! I thought it might lock the resistance when I locked the device to adjust the temp but it's still going up as it fires, not loads just creeping up slightly.
This help?http://www.vaporshark.com/dna-help-guide

Thanks again mate!! I think I need to press + & - together when it's in unlocked and this locks the resistance, then + & - in locked mode gets me to temp mode and I can adjust that here.Jeez!!!!! Isticks so easy to work compared to this!!

Someone with aspire nautilus mini and cf-vv - what's the next step up?
Looking for ideas for present.
I went from the naut with a stick to an Atlantis with a Sig 30W, then the Subox. Given that I'm loving the Subox atm I'd say cut out the middle and go for one now. £50 for the whole lot. Sub-ohm and seems to be smoother at 18-20WLooking for ideas for present.

Istick 30w & Subtank Nano or Mini Looking for ideas for present.
LordGrover when you say "aspire nautilus mini and cf-vv" are you talking about the Aspire premium starter kit?
http://www.aspirecig.com/aspire-kit/aspire-kit166....
I have two of them, the batteries are ok not great. griffin dai's suggestion of the istick 30w is a good call for a longer lasting battery. An alternative if you want to stick to Aspire products, is the Aspire ESP 30W http://myepack.co.uk/mods/aspire-esp-30w-box-mod.h... I have had one for a few weeks and it works very well. You can put the Aspire Nautilus Mini on top and it works great.
Bottom line is if someone likes the Aspire Nautilus Mini then carry on using it. Until they bring out anything better, the battery is the best upgrade.
