Defo give the cotton bacon v2 a go, best wicking material I've tired so far smile
Any more information on this cotton bacon? I'm currently using the Japanese cotton supplied with the subtank and I'm really impressed with other longevity and flavour. Used to rewick my Nature vape in less than a week (standard organic cotton) and the Japanese has lasted me 2!

http://www.clockworkvapour.co.uk/collections/wick-wire/products/cotton-bacon-by-wick-n-vape-v2-0

I think cotton bacon v1 is dental or medical grade cotton, that was good but did have a slight funky taste for the first couple mins. I think the v2 is the same stuff but they've done something to it to get rid of the funky flavour plus seems to wick much better.

It's all I've been using really, tried some of the jap cotton side by side plus the fibre freaks stuff but it's not as good. With cotton bacon v2 you get the flavour straight from the off. Down to my last strip but I've been rebuilding coils all week trying different stuff out!

Is one supposed to heat the nickel coils up at all with a burner before attaching them just to get some rigidity ?
Not seen any youtube builds so am curious.
I haven't but just tried this method and it's a little better (although goes against everywhere else saying the coils shouldn't be touching)

I built a normal vertical coil on 2.5mm Kuro koiler so it's tight, switched the dna40 out of temp mode and dry burnt the coil, gave it a little squeeze so it heated from inside out like a normal coil, then pulled the deck off the mod, reattached it as a 'new coil' then locked the coil, set temp to 420 and wicked/juiced up the coil.

Working ok (ish) but this SV drippers got a tiny air hole and it's hitting 420 just as quick as before. Massive learning curve with this stuff!! I'll try the dual air holes cap tomorrow and have a play with it.

With these spaced coils I'm getting hot spots and they've definitely been burning the wick and coil in places even at 390. I've sacked it for tonight now!! Needs a lot of patience!!

But!! (one for Cotty as he likes his nautilus kit).....stuck a 0.3ohm Nautilus Ni200 coil from Vaporshark in the nautilus mini and it's working great! No where near the flavour of the drippers but definitely an improvement over the normal BVC heads, I'm at 15w @ 400 and it's pretty good smile Don't really want to push much higher as they're expensive. Not sure if these heads work in other TC mods though, says DNA40 only here but could just be a marketing thing? Can't see why it wouldn't work in something else smile

Put me Lemo drop through the ultrasonic and rewicked with the V2 cotton bacon that dai kindly sent my way - it's bloody good and I've used virtually nothing other than the original for 6 months.

I've deliberately run out of my favourite juice as I'm going diy, so filled up with some Drip Drop chocolate lime as I've a few bottles of their stuff to get rid off until I'm up and running; all of them are quite harsh on the throat, and it was pretty harsh straight after wicking - but it's settled down now and wicking bloody well, great vapour for a 50-50 liquid.

I'd say how long a wick lasts is down to a fair few variables like; how dark or how much sweetener is in the liquid, coil resistance, power supplied, how you vape etc. As an example, Digby's apple and cinnamon pudding is a darker 50/50 liquid, in the Lemo drop I dryburn/rewick every 3-4 days; Digby's El Cadejo is really light in colour, 90vg and the wick can last a couple of weeks easily - I usually change it more regularly than that as I'll burn the cotton at some point...

Cotton bacon is pricey for what it is, but a packet lasts ages - about four months for me.
This guy's review is on the Stealthvape site https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=447&v=eEuQuOAg...

After trying some, I've just ordered a packet from Stealthvape - and they give you free wire, free Muji cotton and a free vape band; make sure to select when ordering wink

just received my first sub ohm tank today and must admit it is not for me. Never done a lung hit before and I cannot see me getting on with it.

@Steve
Good innit smile

DNA40......getting there slowly!

Got the coil builds pretty much sorted, not perfect but getting there. Biggest gripe with this thing is trying to get it to recognise a new coil. Once it's done this, atty locked & temp set as long as it's not running dry it vapes a champ.

Doesn't recognise the atty......ste. Does the SX350 do this?

Hi my set up is the iStick 50w, Kanger subtank nano with the bundled 1.2ohm coil (mod reads 1.3ohm), vaping vampire vapes pinkman at 15w.

I dunno, it is almost an uncomfortable vape for me, cannot quite explain. like a rush to the mouth rather than a nice draw. Also alot hotter than I thought but I did go into this not knowing much about sub ohming. Nothing ventured nothing gained and only £20 gone.

That's not sub-ohm if I read it correctly bud, I found not having my lips tight to the tip helped at first, bit like when you suck helium from a balloon? Also I tried upping/downing the Watts helps with some juice. I can't do Gins Addiction way down low but NP higher up. HTH

Same set up I've got mate smile

I think the nano comes with a 1.2 & 0.5ohm head? Can't remember what mine came with now as I both a couple extra packs of coils each but I find it's better with the 0.5ohm coil fitted, only gripe is the drip tip gets red hot. I also find some juices are way too harsh in this vs other tanks.

It's a cheap easy way into sub ohming but not for everyone. I prefer mouth to lung manly.

Sorry true I guess at 1.2ohm it is more the tank, I may stick on the 0.5ohm bundled coil

I will probably use this when I want a lot of cloud and flavour when chilling with a film at home and keep my Aero Tank V2 as my all day vape on my istick mini.

Lovely stuff isn't it. I need to get more, wouldn't mind trying the full range out, not expensive either for 20ml.
One of the few juices I've tried that made me say WOW! Defo not an adv but lovely now and again

Can't go wrong with the aerotank mate, I still use mine now and again and it's all the missis uses. There's some new vertical coils out for this now with organic cotton. Haven't tried it yet but will next week when I'm in work smile

Have pre ordered an istick Tc mod, hoping it shall get here next week.
Just wanted something simple to start with to get me into this tc business.
