Got my Sigelei 75w tc mod today which trader changed from the faulty Istick 40w, and he also sent a free Samsung battery as goodwill.
Like you guys who own one have said the Sigelei is very good and does not seem to be fussy.
Built a twisted coil like tubbyengineer did but had no joy with it as it was the size of an aircraft carrier and would not fit well on the Kayfun4.
Quick build(far from a perect coil)with nickel 28/29 and it works very well.
Only problem is the Kayfun4 is very thirsty and with TC its even worse so good thing am doing my own mixes.

What ho chaps.

I'm 54 years old and have smoked since I was 18 - 19 ish.

I've had a bit of an "issue", rather unexpected to me, but of course I smoke, and these days anything from an ingrowing toenail upwards seems to be caused by smoking.

I had been feeling unwell for a fewish days, bit short of breath, then I woke up in the early hours one morning, very very short of breath. Long story short, paramedics, hospital, lots of tests, all heart stuff has come back good, all lung stuff has so far come back good, more stuff to do though, so up until now no "cause" has been found.

It has been a couple of weeks now, tests are still ongoing, and I'm feeling a little better, but am still very short of breath in the mornings for whatever reason.

Even a die hard smoking person like myself knows this has to have some connection to my smoking, so even though I really don't want to stop, I feel I should have a go.

I've got one of those electronic things that look like your sucking a pen rather than a fake ciggy, I tried the different liquids the shop had, I settled on the cherry flavour and the "18" strength (they came in 24,18,12, & 6 whatevers).

So, what are the opinions on these things ?
What ho Nigel,
It's much better than zillion degree smoke in your lungs.
Welcome to this part of the forum.

Any health issues with these, especially regarding someone (me) that has recently been in hospital for shortness of breath and is still undergoing tests ?

Sorry for the thread hijack, but someone called Big Al doesn't think the topic is suitable for the health matters forum.

Many thanks.

Many thanks castex.

I'm checking as the medical boys at the moment have been more interested if I use an e-cig than the fact that I actually smoke, and yes I'm being serious.

I find I get more of a 'hit' from 24mg 'Benson & Hedges' liquid from Vapourized than I do from Benson & Hedges. I checked this last week.
The thing I'm using is like this with the aspire clearomiser. That's like the engine that vapourises the liquid. It's efficient - I've tried an alternative and it was frustrating.
I have no doubt that much better is available, but this is doing it for me.

The 24 mg nearly blew my socks off.

I've only had it today (I have tried one before, a few years back, they seem to have come on big style), so we'll see how it goes.

I was a roll your own chap rather than branded cigs.

I stopped smoking Pueblo rollies three weeks ago. Hopefully forever.
Together we can do it, brother.

We'll see lol

I've been here before.

I'm going to try and run the Big Al gauntlet again, regarding the medical bit, and although it is nice to get replies in here, I feel any medical people are more likely to be watching the health forum.

Hi Nigel,

Best place to look for health matters is probably http://ukvapers.org/Forum-Health-and-Legal-Matters
Personally, if I had been for shortness of breath I would probably cut down on anything other than air in my lungs, saying that, there is no way that vaping is as bad for you as cigarettes. But then I suppose that can be dispute by many too.
It's a bit of minefield at the moment as lots of people react differently to lots of things.
Smoking is a known quantity (to an extent), there hasn't been the same amount of research into vaping yet, although it is coming, slowly but surely there are some big names coming out with positive stuff.
I can't find it at the moment (thought it was MIT) but there has been a study done by a big american university that has had very positive results.
But, the same as anything you put in your body, be wary, some people have a slightly allergy to PG (Propylene Glycol) one of the ingredients and therefore have to vape a different mixture liquid.

Hope that helps a bit.

I'm a nurse who vapes if that helps? I've had plenty of discussions with various medics and nurses; some are pro, some are anti, and the majority are we just don't know, as the evidence base is so shallow at present. Dr Farsalinos is a renowned cardiologist doing most of the current ecig research - his most recent peer reviewed research suggests that vaping is at least 95% safer than smoking - http://vapeaboutit.com/study-finds-vaping-is-95-sa...

Would I advise a man short of breath to start using them, no I wouldn't, I'd probably suggest alternative NRT products unless nicotine was thought to be the causative factor for the shortness of breath - now that you have started vaping, it's better for you than continuing to smoke. 24mg is pretty bloody strong, I was a rollie smoker and started on 18mg from 15-20 per day.
My old man smoked 30 per day and he needed the 24mg to hold him. If you're really feeling the effects of 24mg, cut the strength down.

Just a quick note for anyone may be travelling through Dubai. Today I had my Vape (3 x nautilus, and battery) confiscated as I left the country.

I live here, and so asked if they could place in lost property so I can collect on my return. It was met with a firm refusal. I went to the police desk to discuss further, but they would not budge.

According to them it is an edict from some flight authority, and they will be confiscated on entry and exit due to some new legislation introduced 3 weeks ago. I flew to Egypt last week with no issues at all!

My suspicion is there is no aviation law for this, and it is a local decision. I just wanted to give a heads up as Dubai is a common location for visitors and transit, and hand luggage is scanned through transit.

Will be my longest flight in a while with no Vape! I used to be able to do it when on the fags, but this feels worse! Wish me luck!

Was wondering what the position is in the UK at customs regarding ecigs.
Most of the mods I shall put in my hand luggage and liquids in my main luggage however shall keep one mod of some sort at hand, is it best to put it in a plastic bag or should I just keep it in my pocket ?
Cannot really find any info anywhere.

Thanks Cotty, that's my plan, everything in hand luggage except the majority of juice.
Make sure batteries are charged so you can prove the boxes work, just like your mobile phone.
10ml of juice in hand-luggage and make sure tanks are empty.
