Anyone else seen this: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...?

Can't say that I've noticed it but then I tend to vape mostly outdoors.
Maybe gave a look at this vid

Just got a delivery of triphammer juices. Have chucked one straight in the tank (white cookie!) and its a bit harsh in flavour so I think they need steeping for a bit.

I've only ever done the lid off, dark place type of steeping before but am nearly out of normal juice so need to get on this quicker! I've heard that putting the bottles in boiling water until it cools will steep them quickly, but they're plastic bottles - does it work and is that still ok with plastic?!

Yes will be fine in plastic, boiling is far to aggresive I quick steep at around 120-130f or 50-60c for about an hour.

Hi guys, after some advice please.

I've got rid of my vapestick the other day and decided to get something proper.

I've gone for an iPV D2 mod with an iSub tank. I'm very happy with it so far, but the tank can be quite loud sometimes and this annoys the mrs if I vape in bed at night or in the morning. I understand this is down to the 0.5ohm coils the iSub tank runs, but there aren't others available for that tank. Also the mouthpiece is quite wide, I'd prefer something smaller. Know of any tanks that work with my mod that would be better for me?

Also the shop I got it from tells me I should be using premium liquids now rather than the thinner ones like diamond mist etc. this is fine but I only like vaping tobacco flavour liquids and my shop only sells one premium liquid in tobacvo flavour which is Athena by Mythos. Anyone know of any decent tobacco flavour premium liquids?

Thanks in advance.

I really rate the kanger subtank mini. Although I have only used it with nickel coils for temp control, lots of others seem to love it.

As for liquids, I'm not the best as I'm not a fan, however I got a free sample from House of Liquids when buying an atty and I was informed it was bloody lovely. They seem to specialise in tobacco flavours, so does manabush I think?

Nice one, will keep that in mind for when the mrs reaches breaking point!

Did some research on the house of liquids stuff, it seems highly regarded for tobacco vapers so just ordered a few bottles to see what they're like. Can't wait to get them, thanks!

They want to sell you premium liquid as its more expensive to make more profit. Saying a juice is premium is bullst. If what you are using works for you stick with it. Juice is juice, there is nothing special about it. It contains:

propylene glycol
vegetable glycerin
nicotine
Flavoring

I use propylene glycol at 30%, vegetable glycerin 70%. People/companies often shorten these to PG and VG. The VG or vegetable glycerin is the thicker of the two liquids, this creates more vapour.

Hols do some nice juices, I personally vape Puros and Puros dark.
Another tobacco one you should try is Tribeca by Purity, its excellent as an all day vape.

If people are interested in tobacco liquids, these two review threads I've done on UK Vapers (a strictly non-commercial forum) might be of interest:

A while back I posted a pic of iStick 50W I bought - if anyone is thinking of doing the same I strongly advise you don't. I had an issue, which I later found out is common, where it would turn on by itself. This is obviously extremely bad especially if it were to fail to cut off! I've since sent it back and replaced with a Kanger Subox Mini Kit.

Mine too for ease but my Sig 30 works really well with the Sub-Tank Plus, great flavour

istick 50w has a terrible reputation for autofiring and even catching fire

I've got to the point now where my curve 30w is manageable and the taste is good, before I had 1.2ohm horizontal coils and ordered some new coils off Amazon which are vertical and they seem to make the taste a lot better and smoother, I also don't get this popping noise any more.

I also have a kanger mini tank on it.

I wouldn't mind upgrading to a new Mod which can take 0.5ohm coils to see the difference, what mod would somebody recommend where I can fit my kanger mini tank onto it. I've been looking and the Kanger mini start up kit, but they don't appear to sell just the battery part on its own?

thanks

If you put the 0.5ohm coil in the subtank mini, you can fire it on the Curve 30w. Its designed to fire down that low.

As per the advertising blurb

When I bought the kanger mini tank it came with 2 coils, when I placed the 0.5ohm into it states 'No atomiser' placed the 1.2 back in and it worked?

I am learning slowly about the world of vaping....do I have to up the voltage and then it will except the 0.5ohm?

I currently run at about 11w

arrgh, mine goes upto 20w, bit pissed off as I spent £30 on it and should have gone straight onto the 30 w ( or above ) and given myself more range!

I'm no expert, but I believe they mean that the premium liquids are thicker. The guy in the shop said the diamond mist ones I use are thinner because a vapestick will struggle to vapourise premium liquids. My new set up is suitable for premium liquids apparently. He also said that if I use non premium liquids I may get some leakage in hotter weather due to the lower viscosity.

One thing that the "premium" liquid I am using at the moment says on the bottle is "100% PG free", so I assume that cheaper liquids contain that where as the mythos athena liquid I have doesn't. I have also noticed in the shop I go to that the premium liquids tend to be in bigger glass bottles and have a glass pipette rather than the smaller plastic bottles the diamond mist comes in.

All that means is the liquid has no propylene glycol in it, it is 100%
vegetable glycerin. Which is the thicker of the two liquids. Some people use 100% PG as they may have an alergy or don't like the throat hit.

Also I by 70VG/30PG juice that comes in glass bottles with glass pipette the liquid is also suppied in plastic bottles. The container it comes in doesn't matter. I also have ordered in the past 100% VG juice that came in plastic bottles.
