After some advice guys, was wondering if the Kanger subtank leaks when flying as in a dilemma what to take as hand luggage.
Read that if it is turned upside down at take off and landing it does not leak, anyone tried this or has any advice ?
Works for me. I make sure they're upside down and the airflow open to allow pressure release. In a little baggy just in case. Never fly with a completely full tank though just in case.
Mine was fine flying last month, I put it all in hand luggage (apart from juice, of course) my problems started when I got there. My mini leaked like fk, I guess because the rubber O-rings stretch. THe Subtank Plus stood up to it better though.
Thanks Twing, Subtank Nano it shall be.

Anyone using the Uwell Crown tank? I've watched a couple of reviews and think they perform and look great. Be interested to hear some real life experiences, especially in TC mode.
I got the Uwell crown using the nickel coils for tc over a week ago. I really like it, top fill is ace and the coils seem bigger with more cotton than the kanger ones for the subtank. Took a tank or 2 to lose an odd flavour, possibly the cotton taste ?

Drinks the juice though, but I do prefer it to my subtank mini, recommended.

Cheers Stu, will be ordering one today I think.

In the market for a new TC mod too if anyone has any suggestions? Finding the Sigelei 75w way too heavy for daily use. I'm almost certain my 150w with twin 18650's weighs less than the 75w.

I agree the 75w is heavy, it's those side panels, it didn't need to be so heavy.

I was wrong.

75w + Battery = 215g
150w + Batteries = 237g

Still, seems heavier in hand.

IPV D2? I've got both and the IPV has become my daily, albeit it without being used in TC mode (I'm not a fan of the TC coils for the Subtank). It doesn't have your typical micro usb charging port but that hasn't bothered me as I tend to charge my batteries via a specific charger. The size is probably the best thing about it though. If Sigelei used their internals and menu system in the IPVs body, I'd have my perfect mod.

I've been asked to get something for a friend abroad, they have given me no idea what they want and they are still smoking at the moment. I don't smoke and therefore have no idea what to get, having read the net I'm thinking either the EVOD 2 starter kit or the eleaf 30W and mini nautilus (I know different price brackets).

They will be able to access juices where they are but not any spares etc so will rely on me sending them out, what would people suggest is the better option for the complete newbie (also english not their first language) so ease of use.

Could people suggest what I would need to get for say 2 months usage, any advice for someone without a clue would be appreciated.

Istick 40w for £21 delivered; got a grey one for my Mrs delivered on Tuesday, she's over the moon with it; much better build quality than the 20 or 30w versions; it does temperature control, tell them to ignore that http://www.gearbest.com/electronic-cigarettes/pp_2...

Aspire Nautilus mini is probably still the best tank for a new vaper, gives a drag similar to a cigarette (my Mrs uses two of them) http://www.boldvape.co.uk/tank-systems/72-aspire-n...

Packets of coils, 1.6ohm was my preference http://www.boldvape.co.uk/atomizer-s/188-5pcs-aspi...

Spare glass for the tank http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Authentic-Nautilus-Mini-...

That's roughly three months worth when changing coils every two weeks - tell them to keep power at 12w max. Just under £55. Newer tank systems are available for similar money, but not really suitable for new vapers IMO.

Any DIY juice makers here? I've just made my first bottle but it's come out really thick, like almost runny honey thick. It's 70/30 VG heavy with 25% flavouring (double Apple, cinnamon and French vanilla cloud9), should I expect it to thin out as I steep for a few days?

That's a good ratio so shouldn't be overly thick. When i started home brewing, I was mixing by hand and found the liquid was a bit thicker and didn't develop flavour so well. I now use a dremel to give it a good blend before I let it steep. Maybe something like that will help?

Let us know how you get on.

Good plan, didn't think of that! I've only done 10ml to start with as I don't want to waste loads of it's ste!

Do you colour yours? The one I've made is just clear (as expected) but I've got 10 concentrates altogether so was thinking about a drop of food colouring or something to set them all apart when they're brewed!

Or kanger tank and horizontal coils and a load of cotton so he can rewick them?

I don't colour mine, and like yours the majority of mine are clear. Depending on the flavour concentrate, some change colour to a yellow/amber/brown. The darkest I had was when I made a coffee/hazelnut blend....almost looked like crude oil (and didn't taste far off either).

Giving it a thorough mix definitely pays dividends, I generally mix in 30ml bottles then put them in hot water in an ultrasonic cleaner for a couple of hours - last batch I made was 350ml done in a plastic measuring jug, then I took a food mixer to it for 5 minutes or so, left it for half an hour to settle and it was colouring when I bottled it. This is the colour now, 8 days since I mixed it.

It depends on the colour of the flavourings and how much nicotine you use. That liquid is a clone of Cuttwood's Unicorn Milk, give or take it was £40 for 350ml - the real deal is £9 for 16.5ml! Tastes very similar. Recipe here http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/255064/INTERNAL...

Its thinned out quite a bit now and is on par with a shop bought in terms of consistency. Starting to darken a little too, which is good. Unfortunately I'm in the midst of moving house at the moment so mixing stuff is in a box somewhere! Keep shaking it vigorously anyway so will keep on with that.

Have had a little try earlier. Not to bad although very apple heavy and cant taste the vanilla at all. Was 15% French vanilla cream, 5% double apple and 5% cinnamon, so vanilla should start coming out more as out steeps I hope.
