Fookin hell, already sweating at all of this....

If one needs to buy a battery (found torchyboy via a web site and now finally have his ebay account name) - how do you know what power battery to go for?! The dimensions are one thing but there are hundreds listed with different mAh, different ampage etc etc!

This is what scared me off going beyond a one stop set up previously!

So, the subtank is better if I draw straight to the lung, and the nautilus if I take to the mouth and then the lung? That the right way around?
Yes and yes

And both take ready made coils rather than fookin about with tweezers and bits of cotton wick?!
Yep ready made

Any recommendations for a compact neat box that incorporates the tank too? Had a quick google and the Kanger Nebox and the Joyetech eGrip both seem well regarded. Any views? Or are these one box machines flawed in some way that carrying the taller one atop another devices make for a better experience?
Im not a fan of boxes that incorporate a tank. That Nebox looks good but it has a plastic tank, certain juices can crack plastic tanks which would mean a total loss of the unit. If you have something that will accept a tank the if you crack the tank you can swap it out or just put another tank in with a different flavour if you want to quickly swap around.

ill have a think.

Irritatingly, there's not much out there. As long time vapers on here know, I loved my (stupidly expensive) billet box. Originally an all in one variable voltage cartomiser tank device, it was bloody stunning. The designer promised development of improvements, such as a rebuild able atomiser, etc. In the end, apart from new colours and a slightly different tank, he didn't bring anything to market.

Fortunately, others did. So I could use decent coils. Then variable wattage and ultimately temp control came out. I couldn't justify carrying on using a device that didn't have that functionality.

There's only two variable wattage/temp control all in one devices that are almost generally available (I'll ignore the frankly fking irritating Facebook list sellers who only let people they know onto the list, never produce much in the way of volume, and seem to want to create a high cost collectors device instead of a business) - the gizmo rdna, and the railbox. Both will take a subtank or nautilus/etc. Neither are remotely cheap. Neither are freely available in the sense of add to cart, pay and receive.

It's bloody annoying. If it wasn't such a closed shop in terms of ability to secure volume components such as dna/yihi chips, I'd have done something about it, getting cnc enclosures made in China and assembled in the UK (or if necessary the Philippines). As it is, I've tried to secure 1000 chips, without the need for credit terms, and the manufacturers just aren't interested. Odd, and completely unlike any other manufacturing industry in my experience.

Shnozz for out and about how about a Naturevape eNVy 17 or the eNVy 22. The numbers are what size tank it will accept 17mm or 22mm. Its a side by side mod so the battery sits next to a tank that unscrews creating a low profile in the hand.

I find the best way to learn about new things is find a reviewer on Youtube and subscribe then you get to see the see stuff as and when they do and you get see it in action and any up or downsides. Martyn Parker is quite good out of the English reviewers (he also reviews a lot of juice), here are his opinions on the Nature vape boxes suggested above. They have inbuilt batteries like the istick and charge via USB. I have the 22 and warn you it is chunky and very heavy but watch the review and see what you think. Obviously there is a trade off in battery life, juice capacity, weight between the two

Kanger makes three tanks that use the same coils, but the Nano and the Mini are the ones to look at. The Nano fits the eNVy 17 and the Mini fits the eNVy 22. They also work well on an istick

You might be able to find them cheaper on something like gearbest website but I have not tried them.

As always, gents, many thanks and very informative.

I will get a load of youtube reviews and going to order myself a new couple of set ups; home, office and portable. From progressing from the Aspire CF stick through to the istick and the various tanks with each, I am confident enough of my vaping enjoyment to justify a £100 or so on a few new set ups.

One to get you started a review of all the Kanger subtanks. Ignore the rebuildable bit the premade coils fit all three. Definately pre-soak the coils, drip some juice into it before putting it in the tank.

Another tip, as you don't say what mg of nicotine you are using. If you start to direct lung inhale on one one of these big airy tanks you get so much more vapour the amount of nicotine you are receiving increases. If you get a bit light headed or buzzing then drop your nicotine level. Im currently using 3mg nicotine in all my juice (I run multiple tanks with different flavors)

Another recipes for any DIYers who like a tasty custard/smooth vanilla:

70/30 vg heavy,
17% French vanilla cream
4% dulche de leche
1% ethyl maltol

Steep for a week or so. Can't get enough of the stuff! Will be knocking up 100ml in the next week or so cloud9

I only use Samsung 25r's (2500mAh) - stated 22 amp limit but torchy has tested them to 30a with no issues; you won't get near that amp draw on regulated devices, good safe batteries. He also stocks Samsung 30Q which are 3000mah,gives better battery run time but take longer to charge.

This is the Goblin - Tiny little thing but 3ml capacity with dual coil and great airflow through the bottom

I got one last week, cracking vape, but the fill screw is a PITA! It wouldn't have been quite as bad had they used a Philips head screw, but a slotted one is annoying as fk. Running mine single coil in temp control and it gives excellent flavour/vapour.

Got my Aspire 30W plugged in at work, the red charging light is on but it does not appear to be taking a charge. Battery indicator has not moved. Might be the excuse I need to get the Aspire Pegasus box and charging dock.

Another +1 for the Goblin mini, it's a decent RDA for the size, impressive clouds as well. Mines been relegated to my backup mod now as I've got an iSub Apex which is hands down the best atomizer I've used flavour wise (I've tried a few).

These two mods are what I carry around day to day, a Coolfire 4 with iSub Apex and a Kangerside 25w mini with the goblin, I used to take extra liquids and batteries etc... but now find it easier to just carry around two mods. The small one with the Goblin mini makes pretty big clouds which is impressive for the size.

Do it, it's excellent, only a couple of days in with mine but it is well worth the money.

Firstly it is big, coming from a little 40w curve and Nautilus Mini it is bigger and heavier but feels like it is built to last, very high quality feel. The difference In the vape is very noticeable, I am mouth to lung so using the 1.8 coils but the flavour is very good, the Triton 2 is also excellent, high quality feel, easy to use and easy to fill up, the drip tip feels a little large for mouth to lung but have got used to it and the Nautilus mini drip tip drops right in if I need to.

It was very easy to set up as it has it's own settings and limits for each of the coil types which you can change when you install a new one, the battery can be changed in 2 seconds (another novely for me coming form the fixed curve unit), I got the batteries from Aspire as well.

The charging plate tops it off nicely, it is again very heavy duty but works perfectly and certainly does feel safer knowing if it should catch light then it would take a hefty amount of heat to even mark it up.

Apparently there is a mini version planned for the battery pack, triton and charge plate as well which I will definitely be picking up now.

Had been using the Clouper Mini with Aspire 2 head for 4 months but decided to change over to the Uwell Crown with a Tugboat 80W TC Mod. Also considering purchasing the Smok Xcube 2, anyone used either of these mods before?

Right I need a new TC mod!!!!!

This vapor shark DNA40 pos is getting launched out the fking window!!!!

I've only got maybe £50 to spend here so I guess I'm pretty limited. Don't mind getting from FT or GB. Don't mind what brand/color it is as long as the thing does the opposite of this and actually works!!

Any recommendations? Tend to Vape around 22-25w so don't really need a cloud blowing 100w beast! Mainly using 22mm drippers here if that makes a difference?

I've tried my best with this thing....but you really can't polish a turd frown

You just reminded me it is heavy. Sod it ill just get another Kanger Kbox Mini in silver. I already have a couple of the original silver tanks to go on it. It just a nice size, weight, feel etc but out of stock at the moment
