Beginners device...

Aspire Nautilus Mini + CF VV+
or
KangerTech GeniTank + Innokin Cool Fire IV

These combos have been recommended by local shop and it would be convenient to use them rather than internet.
Is either better than the other or are they very similar?

The Aspire Nautilus Mini + CF VV+ would be better in my opinion. If you could swap the battery to a 30w istick that would be ideal.

Mind you, you could upgrade the battery at a later date and still use the Nautilus

Yes turn it upside down and unscrew the base to fill it. Don’t over tighten as it’s a bh to get undone if you do.
You will need coils and juice ongoing
You can adjust the airflow ring on the bottom to change the draw.
Cool, what coils?

I want to make sure I have a stock of everything so I don't have any downtime. Halved the fags the last two days so once I'm converted fully I don't want to go back.

After asking in this thread about a year ago I finally got round to buying an iStick and Aspire K1 kit.
These are the ones for the K1. They do not have adjustable airflow, they draw like a tobacco cig, pull the vapour into your mouth then inhale.

Your kit should look like the one on the left, the one on the right is the istick with the Nautilus mini

Thanks. Mine is the left one but it doesn't have the bit that looks like a hinge, maybe older version or something- it was on offer.

A guy in another shop showed me how to draw without going mouth first, works fine but not used to it yet.

Last question (for now) what the difference in the tanks, just size?

The photo is of the original 20w istick that had threads like butter i.e they were crap not smooth. There was a device that allowed you to hinge/bend to tank over so it was more compact in the pocket. I just used them to protect the threads and screwed the tank into the hinge and not the istick directly. Thats not needed these days they made the threads stronger.

Size, plus the Aspire Nautilus on the right has a ring at the bottom so you can select 4 different airflow or draws. I was like you, drew the smoke into my mouth then inhaled, the K1 is perfect for that. I learnt that some people smoked cigs by inhaling directly into their lungs. The first is a mouth to lung the second direct lung.

I now exclusively direct lung inhale on a Kanger Subox Mini kit. They bill these as starter kits but if you are just starting on a high nicotine level they can get you a little trippy as the amout of vapour produced can dump lots of nicotine into you in a few hits. I currenlty use 3mg nicotine in my juice.

Just ordered some of these https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvaR_8KHSz8

My local vape shop (Emporium in Hull, great if you are around there!) said they last over a month and will fit my Atlantis, so tried them in 0.9ohm - Using normal coils at 0.5ohm at the minute - should arrive Friday, so will report back!!

Also, the Button Junkie juices are nice - using Vulture Punch ATM - Creamy, Vanilla & Brown Sugar - gorgeous!!

well... what a great bit of kit! Now on Cloud Freaks Cherry Tunes with the new Ceramic coils and it is brilliant - 0.9ohm at 30w seems the sweet-spot on this juice....

The flavour is amazing, cleaner tasting - not as wet as with cotton wool wicks, if that makes sense! I tend to get condensation in my nose/stubble but not so much with these coils....

Yeah, the ceramic coils do look interesting. Was reading a few reviews of the Vapresso 75VTC and there have been a few unhappy people having problems with the coils. When they work well they seem much better than the one's we're all used to though.

Will be keeping an eye of these as the only thing I don't like about my Kanger Subox is the rate I get through the coils.

How quickly are you getting through them?

Depends how many juices I swap through them. Unfortunately some of my favourite flavours seem to gunk them up pretty quickly and then it loses some of the taste.

So far so good - when swapping flavours there is only a little "merging" and then the new flavour comes through very quickly.... from what someone said in my local Vape shop, these Kanthal ones are great, but the Nickel TC ones, not so good... fingers crossed!

Its funny how flavors can change, mellow or disappear. I finally got round to trying Morning Glory. Been sitting for a few weeks, bottle has been opened a few times just to have a smell. Put it in a Kanger subtank with 1.2ohm coil at 17w, nice you really get the oats, milk, bit of berries and lots of vanilla. Thought it a bit too sweet, but hey it was a free sample might as well use it up. Its mellowed in the tank, im now getting oats, milk, hint of berries and the vanilla has gone, really liking this smokin

Sorry to be annoying as no doubt itscovered in previous 400 pages but has the general consensus been that they are safe? Ive smoked not heavy for 6 years plus. Couple in week 10 box on a night out. Just got ny first vape and thinking of switching but having read up for the first time it seems to have conflicting views

I think the consensus is there have not been around long enough to see what, if any, long term effects are. On a date to day basis a lot safer than cigs like 99%

I'd agree with the above, in terms of general health, I feel much better since I stopped smoking, I don't feel like passing out after every gym session like I did when I was smoking. Also there's a lot of nonsense going about on facebook about the dangers, be warned a lot of these are generally absolute crap, Vape liquid is primarily made up vegetable glycerine, propylene Gylcol and nicotine.
