Just bought three new flavours from VapeGoo; Cherry Cola, Choc Milk and Cola Bottles. The flavours seem to be a lot stronger than previous batches. Can't argue with the value for money at £9.90 for 90ml or 400ml for £30!

Just got myself a Smok Alien and am trying to work it out and get the best out of it.
Shall take me a while to get used to it after my Kayfun v4 with the Sigelei tc mod as the Kayfun is more subtle, the Alien is full on attack mode.
Have changed the drip tip to a narrower one so that has helped with the subtleness.
Knowing some of you have the mod I was wondering what settings you guys found best when using the Q2 coils as all the settings are mind boggling for my old brain.

I am running the Q2 at 35W, my mate at 40, but this might be a bit of a waste of the power of the Alien

Be careful with your Q2, seems to have been an issue with production in China and they are hens teeth in the UK at the moment, should be sorted soon AIUI

Do you mean the TCR setting? I've got mine set to 0.00082 for SS. Works great with the tfv8 t8 & q4 coils plus my ss Clapton build in the rose3 but having a mare with the crown 0.25ohm coils so just run these in wattage mode.

Tend to run in soft or normal in wattage mode, hard is a bit too full on for me!!

Also having a nightmare with ni200, just can't get it right so just use my dna40 with any nickel builds.

Cracking mod though. I've heard some say the paint gets worn off easy so I keep mine in a silicone case (couple quid from fasttech)

Thanks guys, been doing some more reading and discovered that the Q2 is not meant for TC, if I read correctly.
Mine is set at N, and 40 W.
Works also on SS mode, wondering what the difference is.
So these coils that come with it are not meant for TC ? Is that correct ?

Do you mean difference in soft/normal/hard? I had a look at mine earlier and all I could see different was the amount of amps it pulls, just goes up slightly from each setting. Can't help with the Q2 coils though, I've always thought SS can be used in both temp and wattage mode but not kanthal and wattage mode only, and ni200 in temp mode only. Never had any issues running SS coils in both TC & wattage. I find it better in TC with the tfv8 and wattage on my crown tank (can't get TC to work that well with these crown coils)

Have we got many Snapdragon dripper users on here? My v1 clone arrived today from FT, flavours fantastic on this thing but it gets waaaay too hot!!

What's the best single coil build to stick in here?

My go to build is usually a SS Clapton, 3mm diameter and usually gets between 1-1.1ohms. Tried that but it kept shorting out so reduced the diameter to 2.5mm and its not shorting, came out to 0.95ohms. Nice but really hot and uncomfortable to chain vape!! Also noticed the bottom pin had to be adjusted to get a stable connection on this Alien mod.

Prefer single to dual coils, but what's a decent TC build to try?

I run mine dual coiled with 0.4mm kanthal 0.6ohm at 35w and it doesn't get overly warm despite being a warm vape. I find single coils can actually heat it up more than duals as you can put a fair bit of power through them and it just isn't designed for high power, so gets very hot quickly.

Thanks Steve, I've settled on a 2mm Dia SS Clapton single coil build, comes in at 1.05ohms. Really good, also ditched the drip tip for one of these so no more burnt lips!

Just could not cope with the baby tank, good flavour and lots of clouds but thats where it stops so not really my type of vape.
As my old Kayfun v4 seen better days treated myself to a Kayfun v5 clone direct from a UK supplier.
Fantastic vape with an ss coil at 0.5 ohms and the easiest coil and wicking experience I have had so far, difficult to go wrong.
In all the Alien still a decent buy as the battery life is fantastic and its also a decent mod.

Pretty much how I felt about the tvf8. Ok to use now and again but the y it gulps juice down is insane, plus it leaks like crazy, and battery life's mega short when your around 80/100 watts. I prefer the rose3! Miles better flavour and I'm not filling the thing up every half hour!

The Aliens really good though. I'm getting close to 2 days with my HG2 & 30Q batteries here

Weeeeeeeee 80-100w, never vaped anything at that wattage, the juice must be going down as you watch it.
Yes its a treat having the Battery lasting a couple of days, the only thing I have noticed with the Alien is that paint job is pretty crap and the paint is chipping even though I am very careful.
Ordered a silicone cover for it as hate chipped paint.

I found it leaked a little less with more power but still a pain in the arse, tried all sorts to stop it leaking but stil the same

Yes bought one simillar or the same from ebay yesterday, Hong Kong seller so by the time it arrives the mod will probbaly look a mess.
Know you considered a Kayfun v4 in the past, worth trying the V5 if you fancy a new tank as its a great vape and a pleasure to build.
Got my SXK version from the UK for around £30 as could not wait a month however Fastech have them for $19.32.

Next purchase is the authentic snappy 1.5 Bit torn between the VT Inbox or Therion BF here, both have the same dna75 chip so should be good, I think the Therions better quality though so might swing it. Getting back into dripping now so a good squonker sounds ideal
