Can anyone tell me what liquid is very similar to the Skycig Tobacco gold or the Tornado-T start up cartridge samples you get with the new kits?
I have just ordered some Golden Virginia flavour from here, http://www.ok-smokey.com/e-cig-liquids/e-liquid-20... may get the Lambert & Butler next if it's crap.
I really want a liquid that gives throat hit, smoke and taste but keep coming across to smooth flavours that lack the hit and taste.
OK Smokey do their "roll-up" (GV, Old Holburn, Amber Leaf, Drum) in both single and double strength flavours - if it's hit you are looking for, go for the double flavour in one of the higher strengths...

Thought I would share my experiences with e cigarettes here;
I have smoked roll ups for 7 years, from about 10 to 20 a day. A few months ago I bought a nucig starter kit but soon got bored of it and eventually lost the charger and carried on smoking, albeit only about 5 a day.
Around a month ago I ordered two titan t 3400mah batteries and some cone shaped dual coil clearomisers from Totally Wicked, along with some Platinum Ice mixing liquid, Pina colada and Cherry Menthol flavours. I mixed them up according to the chart, aiming for 24mg strength. When I filled up and used them, there was hardly any smoke and I assumed I must be doing something wrong. I tried a few more times and eventually gave up and went back to cigarettes again. Then two weeks ago I ordered some ce2 clearomisers from the same site, used the same mix and it was brilliant. Turns out the batteries didn't have the power required for the dual coil clearomisers, which makes sense as they are of a far larger diameter, they just looked like they would fit on the website.
I also ordered a flavour called "Granny's apple" which is quite sour but I find it provides a nice throat hit due to this. I am currently experimenting with flavours and have just mixed up 7 drops of apple with 3 drops cherry menthol and it's delicious! I am still using 24mg strength which I find provides a decent level of nicotine without being too harsh.
So far I have had half a cigarette at the pub which I didn't enjoy. I think I'm lucky in that not so many people seem to smoke roll ups so they are harder to pinch of other people when I fill up on lager. Having said that, even after a few tinnies my e cigarette easily satisfies and cravings.
I have just ordered a new batch of flavours; Peppermins oils, kiwi, sarsaparilla, another cherry menthol (My favourite so far) and Iron Brewed (Irn Bru). Ill let you all know how I get along with them because the hardest part of starting this, for me, has been getting the flavours right.
Totally Wicked also replaced a battery which became defective after a week free of charge with no hassle.
The set up I have right now provides a good deal of vapour and a nice flavour with a throat hit that is enough for someone who used to smoke golden virginia, blue rizla with filters.
Like other people on this thread, I would recommend getting one of the cheapo kits and then if you decide it is for you, order some of the more expensive stuff right away. If I had done that I probably would never have gone back to cigarettes.
I am currently considering getting one of the thicker 1000mah batteries to try out the cone shaped clearomisers that I ordered in error, as it seems a shame to waste them. I prefer the automatic batteries with an led at the end. Any recommendations?

Advice from users of newer e-cigs, please?

I've been a smoker for many years and currently use 20 Carlton Superkings Blue per day (can't do rollies, and hate the taste).

I tried e-cigs a while ago, beginning with a Gamucci kit, followed by 'a white one' (can't recall which)
and now have a Mini-Cig, of the type with a blue LED.

These all have one thing in common. I find that slurping on the e-cig like there's the need for a bellows
up my fundament only gives a few pitiful wisps of steam (allegedly menthol but tasting largely of nothing). All the batteries are charged and the liquid is in the mouthpiece; there are no evident electromechanical issues.

Tends to make me want a fag laugh

I'm looking to try again, and...

I don't want to become an eccentric vaper with multiple batteries, Van de Graaf generators, wind turbines
and dual amperage swirl pots.

I don't want to spend a fortune.

I don't want to waste my money trying stuff out (again).

From a brief bit of research, the Tornado eGo-C Slim Full Kit seems an option, as does its bigger brother, the eGo-C.

So, just looking for a decent amount of something to inhale, with a better chance of success than my current kit. Are the advertising vids for real? Or does the man have a 'real' cig up his sleeve?

All sensible advice gratefully accepted. Thanks in advance.

Hi davhill,

You won't go far wrong with the eGo-c from Totally Wicked. I tried and failed with various lesser weedy eCigs but IMO they just don't have the necessary battery power to properly vaporise the fluid. Once I switched to the Tornado and then eGo-C type in April I haven't looked back.
Best of luck mate.

Ditching the idea you need something the looks like a fag is the only way you can get on with vaping. The cig-a-likes just don't produce the vapour or throat hit like the bigger kit does and so it's hard to not pick up a proper fag.

I use the Riva 1100 kit with a clearomiser from Vape Escape and since buying ti haven't had a real cig and barely ever have the urge for one. People do ask a lot of questions and make jokes about crack pipes and bongs but to be honest who cares.

Yep went straight in with an eGo-C here, then tweaked it from there.

Didn't smoke another cigarette since then (May this year).

Smoked a pack a day... every other shopping trip included a 200 carton of Marlboro Lights, not much change from 80 sovs just for smokes.

When that was added to the bill it did seem a tad spiteful.

Not any more though. smile

These kits seem to be very popular.

For more vapour choose this option: 'If you prefer Low Resistance Vision Ego's - please add a note in the comments box at checkout'

For more 'hit' choose a high strength (24mg) liquid.

Can anyone suggest a good tobbacoo flavour. Hopefully a VG rather than PG would help. Maybe a pipe tobaco type flavour would help

Well, I've gone from 20 - 25 cigarettes a day to zero.

I used those fake cig looking jobbies and found they did nothing.

My dad, already on different kits had decided to buy me the £40 starter kit from Liberty Flights.

http://www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=18...

I found that the cartomizers were leaving me guessing all the time about how much I had left. (burning if dry). That wasn't helping at all.

I bought a tank for it, a 900mah ego battery (I found that the normal batteries were lasting out their counterparts charge time and the last thing I needed was no battery), and found it was more pleasing to see how much fluid I had left. I started off with 18mg nicotine.

I didn't slowly ease off the cigarettes, I woke up one morning and instead of going for a fag, I just hammered the e-Cig. I found it slightly easier after one day of 100% vape. I just went cold turkey basically. Within 2 days, I was less inclined to even think of a fag.

I'm now on 12mg nicotine after 1 month.

These things are great.

I'm clueless about the more advanced batteries and set ups, but I see a lot of the very large batteries , variable voltage, higher/lower resistance carts. I'm looking at getting a larger tank, bigger battery for home use. If anyone could recommend a setup for me?, I'd be chuffed. biggrin

My brother went full on nuts when he started vaping. He started off with the Ego-c with cartomiser and tank, then went for battery mods, vivi nova tanks, rebuildable atomisers and variable voltage kit (the LavaTube). Now he's settled into it he just uses his original Ego-c, cartomiser and tank when he's not at home, and the lavatube with a cartomiser and tank when he's at home.

I do tobacco flavours only.
That said I haven't put much experimentation in.

Being a former Marlboro Lights user I have stuck to the "Marlboro" flavoured liquids across the main well known suppliers, Vape Escape, Juicy Cigs, E Cig Wizard, TW, etc.

I've gone for 18mg for main day to day use, I have a couple of bottles of 12mg for when I get the DCT's out again. I'm thinking of going for some 24mg to go on holiday with a few weeks.

The only tuning I have done, and with what is for me some measure of success, I have added some caramel concentrate flavouring and sweetener concentrate flavouring to the mix.

The slight added flavour and sweetness isn't that noticeable, my additions have been on the cautious side perhaps, but they seem to work for me.

I'm going to slowly increase the caramel and sweetner until they take over and than back them off a bit.

HTH.

Just ordered one... I had a go with e-cigs about 3 years ago and found the batteries were dreadful.

I'm hoping for a vastly improved experience this time around.

Arrived this morning, been vaping away at my desk.

Seems OK.. I have had one real cigarette in the meantime, I seem to be using it a lot more than I would normal fags...

Going to get myself booked on a mega bus now and see if I can close the M6.

Lol.

Try and not use it too much at your deska nd just use it on your fag breaks. That's what I do.

Good tip is to up your fluid intake as it can dehydrate you in the first couple of days.

What flavours did you go for?
