People who use "Fail." or "Epic Fail." or any variant of those.
I don't have a problem with "fail" being used, but "epic" is the second most mis-used word in the English language. It's only second because The Sun newspaper seem to misappropriate the word "hero" so much.

Christ, I am on a roll now.

People who list stupid details in the titles of their cars in their garage

e.g. Peugeot 306 1.9 XS Rolland Garos Edition Special.

Too nerdy, no one cares

genuine lol. I knew there was a spelling mistake in there but not sure what it was.

I did know someone who had one of these around 1996 and never shut up about it.

Is there a better way of differentiating between, for example, the various types of 5-series made over the last 40 years?

Mention the series first of all and put the year on if they are that bothered? e36, to me, could be a 3,5 or 7 series.

I hate the T-Cut joke most of all.
Also:
The coffee meet keyboard one.
The woosh parrot.
When they post just a stupid picture, usually a man's face, but no text.
When they start a thread with "So" but you've got no way of knowing what happened before.
On so many levels.
When there's no actual sentence, just "adjective noun is adjective," something that is totally pointless like "blue car is blue."
Meh.

It's a 90s BMW 5 series. Not the later rounder shaped one, but the boxier shaped one before that.

They are not car names. They are some sort of BMW. But there isn't a BMW e36. There is a BMW 3,5 or 7 series and some others as well.

No, BMW 5 series, BMW 3 series and Honda Integra are car names.

Some bellends refuse to refer to the cars in anything other than type codes. It's worse when they talk engines.

I get annoyed with some of the stuff spouted on there to (hell train references being my main gripe atm) but naming a BMW as the e36 or e46 is the most convinient and simple way of describing which BMW you mean. If I stated in the BMW forum that I was going to buy a 3 series, what should I look out for no one would have a clue what to say, as obviously there are many different 3 series. Saying the e36 3-series is the most simple and obvious way of saying what you mean.

It's excessive nerdy-ness. I have no idea what an e28 or e46 is. I am sure I am not alone.

If someone says a 2008 BMW 330 then I know what that is.

Literally.

As in I'm literally exploding or I'm literally pissing myself laughing.

You're really not. What you're actually doing is demonstrating that you don't understand the meaning of the word 'literally'. getmecoat
