Note to newer members - don't be taken in by this. The pot of cash is split between all the 100 month plus posters, and obviously Bandit doesn't want it to be split more ways.

In the early days some posters used to make a very nice living just from being on PH. Now I believe it's down to a few grand a year for the longest serving members.
I must have been in the first few 100 folks to join PH and I assure you I have never received anything from PH (other than a good time !)

He's lying again.

I understand some of the payment are still in the form of vouchers you can use in the Classifieds as initially this helped them to get established. Is that still true?

Please explain why anyone would pay you for visiting their forum?

Older members get free classified ads - there's no "payments".

Because we add content, and the content brings in more people, and more people click on adverts, and adverts maketh money.

That said, there doesn't need to be a reason. I've known plenty of people get paid for things of no discernible value - but posting on here does have a value.

There used to be a system whereby you got vouchers to redeem against cars sold there I thought, to encourage people to buy cars through PH? Basically you got a voucher with a face value of, say £500 to use against any car over £5k on PH, and PH paid out to the seller? No?

I've seen a few cars I fancy when I get to 100 months - not long now. Do you get the car vouchers straight away? Or do I need more posts?

A forum is regarded as a tool that makes a site "sticky"

Once you have a "sticky" site, you have regular visitors.

Once you have regular visitors, you have potential for advertising revenue.

Pay people to contribute, increase numbers, increase revenue.

I think you may be disappointed when you reach 100 months hehe

Perhaps the site owners perpetuate the myth to keep people around (and therefore make money from more people clicking on adverts etc) scratchchin

Excellent summary. You have turned PH into the internet equivalent of a lapdancing club smile

Are you really not getting anything? I thought you were winding me up.

You should raise a ticket - your back payment will be a tidy sum if you've really never had anything.

No, not in terms of cold hard cash.

That said, I've been to a few PH events and taken advantage of PH offers - so indirect benefit perhaps. smile

That wasn't your question though... wink

It's what I was told - obviously I've only done 98 months so I can't be sure.

Usually, people with over 100 months membership realise how tired and unfunny this joke is.
