Just seen this on my FB feed - tbh it’s fifty times better than most of the other bks that people have scrawled on themselves.

On the subject of tattooes - Mrs DS and I are on a last minute break for a week in Lanzarote. Very nice, clean place. But the British - I am flabbergasted at how fat they are, it’s jaw dropping. And every single Brit is covered in tattooes - it’s bloody awful and embarrassing. Mrs DS and I often play the tractor game, or spot yellow cars. Here we are playing spot the tattoo-free Brit. Pickings are very very slim.

The dates refer to his managerial run, he's not dead.

On a clock face it's more likely to be "IIII" in order to appear more in balance with the "VIII" on the opposite side.

My grandfather (ex pawnbroker) used to say it distinguished between clocks that chimed on the hour and those that didn't. No idea if that is true though

I wouldn't call that bad, the skill is quite clear. It's not exactly to my taste and to me it's unimaginable that I'd ever do something like that to my head but it's not bad as such.

credit where it's due, as an artwork it's quite fantastic(al) - however, that's not exactly going to allow him to have a wide range of job options or indeed not be looked at askance.

I think even tattooists refer to facial tattoos as "jobstoppers" - slightly tongue in cheek.

Personally I think it looks terrible but whatever floats his boat, given the quality of the work I doubt this is something either he or the tattooist have rushed into without some consideration.

It's an amazing tattoo by an obviously very talented artist, just not there.
I'm pretty well tattooed myself, but personally for me faces and hands are a no go.
