Absolutely terrifying. I gather the company has been snapped up by Google, what an awful prospect. One wonders why the fk they need it.
10 years down the line these things will be walking across the battlefield armed. We've had autonomous weapons systems for decades that can determine threat, and shoot at will. Add that to a self driving car, or a platform that can climb stairs etc, and you have a robotic army.
Google = Skynet.......you heard it here first

Wahhhhhhhhhhh! that's brilliant....even more scary than the real thing. They nailed the sound too. I couldn't work it out at the beginning when it was going through the bushes.98elise said:
Look up petman. This is a full sized human walking robot. Aparently they need it to test the durability of chemical warfare suits. If only there was a cheap way of getting a human shaped thing to walk, bend down, squat etc!

And what did Will do to them?Google = Skynet.......you heard it here first
Are there actually any autonomous systems like that except for close in defensive systems like Phalanx? Anything else I'm aware of if only semi autonomous and needs a bloke to press the fire button (eg predator), and even systems like Phalanx are only fully automated in very specific circumstances.
As for Skynet we've had it for ages http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skynet_(satellite)
