I was surprised by that outcome when I saw the video ( here) - I was expecting the big old road whale to plough into the more modern car, bout they really aren't as solid as they appear

Having said that, would they really sacrifice a mint '59 Chevy today? Would rust and age have played some part in the result?

I doubt it was mint, but it's well known that cars of that era were utterly dreadful from a safety perspective.

It was a 4-door Biscayne, so the least 'desirable' from the models available in 1959. Plus it was very rusty.

There might have been a brown stain near the photographer though.

I saw a couple of old men doing this when I lived in Delhi.

They do it to prove that God controls everything in our lives and even if they tempt fate, if it's not their time they'll be fine.

F**king nutjobs.

That perfectly sums up why I hate football with a passion, and love rugby.

In the second gif, there was light hearted banter and apologies between them both afterwards. Gents.

Absolute gents. I mean he could have easily given the guy a brain haemorrhage and killed him - weaker hits with boxing gloves on have done that to boxers - but it's fine because afterwards he said he'd buy him a pint. If breaking the rules in a sporting event to deliver a devastating punch to the temple isn't the defining sign of a gentleman, then I don't know what is.

Whilst I'm venting, footballers (and basketball players a long with a number of other sports) perform theatrics in games not because they're panzies, but because they can reap rewards from doing it. Yes it's wrong and cringeworthy and yes football ought to fine players like the NBA do and make a mockery of them, but it's seldom anything to do with how 'manly' the players are.

Football - 90 minutes of pretending you're hurt
Rugby - 80 minutes of pretending you're not.

Neither of those two in the tweet were involved in that gif.

Tuilagi punched Ashton more than that gif (he cracked him three absolute corkers like that one shown for no return) and they had to play with each other in the England team a few weeks later. I wasn't as amicable as the tweet about a different fight between different players. They were interviewed about it afterwards, Aston said it was just part of the game and he took a decent slap and Tuilagi didn't give a flying fk as usual.

You are right though, rugby is about wiping your mouth and cracking on. Just those two didn't kiss and make up quite like that tweet, Tuilagi properly over reacted and went beyond what is acceptable really, in that occasion. Aston got booked as well but didn't cry about it.

Agree, nothing big about thumping an opponent like Tuilagi did. I was Amazed he was not punished more for that. Sumilar Calum Clark of Northants pretty much snapping off the defenceless arm of a leicester opponent. This is a side of rugby I would rather not see, and I'm glad you don't see this in football. I hate the fakery though.
