Back Story. Casual mate has car stolen. Puts the word out for people to keep their eyes open. I copy to BookFace and a couple days later an old work friend who I haven't spoken to for over a year calls me saying she's seen the car dumped in a residential area. Long story short. He gets his £15k car back with some minor damage and a few personal effects missing. I "suggest" he should sort her out as a Thank You. Not money. Maybe box of chocolates or flowers. After 10 days I send him a message with her work address, essentially to remind him. He says "yeah, will do, bit busy right now"

That was 3 weeks ago. rolleyes

Now I'm not super close to either of them, we have mutual friends really, but I want him to do something. I fear he won't (there's previous lack of gratitudes) So should I do something from me? Or on his behalf? Or just forget about it all? I did my bit after all, and I don't think she'll blame me anyway.

(It's been a bad week for doing the right thing. I was cheated out of £150 after another employee claimed credit for my good deed! (Told my manager that next time I won't bother! laugh )

Suppose that's why he had his car nicked in the first place? next it will be his house or something.

How do you steal a house? silly

Abuse him on facebook, that seems to be what most people do nowadays when someone annoys them.

Nick his car and dump it somewhere.

Tell him your Facebook friend has seen it again.

When he asks "where", tell him that your Facebook friend wouldn't tell you.

If he then asks "why not" then you really ought to strike him off the "casual friend" list to the "too fooking stupid to be my friend" category biggrin

Ok, then no need to buy her something, but just say to her you are sure he's grateful to her and you are hoping he will do the right thing by her.
