Must admit I prefer my Gerber to my Leatherman. Mainly becuase I can use the pliers without the edges biting into my skin.

Still great bits of kit. Have one in each car and the tool box and one in the house. Overkill?
Arrrr, you have a woman's hands, my lord! /blackadder

I used to love selling Leathermans, they would fly out of the shop in december as people looked for christmas presents. the cheaper ones would go easily enough but there was nothing better than stressed wives coming in at five to closing desperately searching for something for their husband.... smile even three or four of those made a bit of a difference to takings.

Don't have a picture of mine handy, but it's one of these:

Laura, my partner/GF/OH/whatever, bought me it for Christmas a couple of years ago.
By far the funkiest looking of the leatherman.
I have the even funkier looking CX version which is gun metal grey (DLC) with carbon fibre. The knife is a pain to sharpen due to the hardness of the blade and the serration.

I keep it on my desk at home and call it my £100 bottle opener, its pretty much useless for anything else.

Snap! Here's my Wave from C.2003. It's been the equivalent of 5 times around the world with me already and 20% into its sixth time now. Was a present from my ex-ex-girlfriend so it outlasted those relationships. The smallest screwdriver bit is a little chewed up after I had to use it to undo tiny hex bolts trying to repair an ECU at a racetrack once and somehow I knocked the point off the plain blade. Could probably get these sorted if I sent it back to Leatherman but I'm never in the UK long enough and I'd miss travelling without it.

About the only thing it can't do is keep the rain off me at Silverstone this weekend!

Upgraded last year when the nice chaps at Leatherman replaced the one I'd had for twenty years, after the screwdriver blade broke. Might have got a tiny bit overexcited, but everyone needs a black C4 detonator spike, yes? biggrin

Mine's a Skeletool CX. I have had a Victorinox tool for many years, but to be honest it's got loads of stuff on it I never need, and it's pretty heavy. The Skeletool has knife, pliers, and screwdrivers, which is all I regularly need. Highly recommended.
