£543 for a swiss army knife! Not exactly pocket sized is it?

Surely a total oxymoron, what is the point, sit on a coffee table / desk or something???£543 for a swiss army knife! Not exactly pocket sized is it?

How do you go about having one of these in your car incase you get pulled over ?
It is simply a case of justifying it to the copper why you have it ie " i had to refit my number plate as it come off using the screw adapaer" kinda thing ?
Depends on how rural you are. I have a small leatherman in the car for attaching hoses and tweaking screws as they come undone. However if i clip or just down right punt an animal down the road with my bumper its quite useful for humanely dispatching them. I think it's an area defence system, open all the tools and throw it at advancing troops. You're guaranteed at least twenty hits.Leatherman Charge TTI, excellent bit of kit.
I have the leather sheaf and i'm probably going to get the bit extender also.

Have you learned the trick of opening a cork with the knife blade? Haven't used a corkscrew since, I must confess...
Do tell, please. You can do it with pretty much any blade that's sharp (I use a Squirt sometimes and it works) and all you have to do is wiggle the blade of the knife into the cork, and bury it as far up tot he hilt as you can, just by rocking it in and out.
Then grab the handle and twist and pull. The twist locks the knife in the cork and stops it sliding and it works a teat. I'll see if I can find a link to a YouTube guide...

Yup that is exactly like mine which my dad bought me for christmas the year after I bought him one. I think it was about 1995/6 and is is still going strong apart from the spring on the scissors is a bit crap and the scissor blades arent that sharp anymore after being used to strip wire and being used to cut Lead/rubber (think xray lead apron)Another Skeletool owner here, shown alongside my Jetbeam BA-20. Sometimes swap that for a AAA maglite with an LED in, truly pocket sized!!
Got it from my grandad for my 18th birthday, and there hasn't been a week since (2.5 years) where it hasn't come in useful. Planning to get the bit kit for it at some point too, just to make the screwdriver a bit more useful.
Re the corkscrew trick, I discovered that one at my parent's anniversary party, when we realised that nobody had bought a corkscrew! Closest thing I had was a leatherman blade, and it worked rather nicely actually!

My Charge ti. In daily use for about 6 years now.
Goes everywhere with me. Responsible for several cuts.
Had a panic recently and thought I had a lost it, but It was in the box of the foot pump, in the boot of my Caterham from my last Caterham track day.
It's been to the us 10 times, and the Wrc rally in Sweden for the last 5 years too, when it has cut down trees and been used for BBQ duities in -25 degrees Swedish and Norwegian forests too!
Would be lost without it!
