Hope Powell, an athlete, went one step further even than "medalling" on Radio 5 this morning and used "podium" as a verb.

This must stop.

I've made a little five in one annoyance here:

At the end of the day, if I'm honest, it does what it says on the tin, and that's the bottom line. End of. banghead

yes its more annoying in caps
It gets dark!!

Aswell as 'at the end of the day' is up there, I have a few more that annoy me.

  • to be honest (and all other variants of) - does that mean they're usually lying?
  • interms of - eh? Are you just trying to stretch the sentence out?
  • basically - someone that starts and ends a sentence with 'basically'.
