Excellent, Thanks for the reply, very interesting, I wonder how much more I have to spend for Adidas to do me a bespoke pair haha
'bespoke' might be pushing it, but you can certainly design your own and Adidas will make them for you for, and the cost is very reasonable. Even have your own wording etc on them.

It's the trousers that make it for me. Must have been some kind of bet / dare.
The bet was, Inductionroar take some photos of getting your lasts made and I bet you a grand that Trabi replies before the end of the page saying a pair trainers, diamond encrusted jeans and his favourite vest is what any self respecting young man should be wearing...."Init!?" biggrin

I have been living in these for the last couple of weeks, well impressed with them.

Geox, Mattias boot.
It is part of their Amphibiox (sp?) range, they still have holes in the soles to let your feet breathe but also waterproof. And they work, really impressed.

Oh, and seriously comfy!!!

Oh my. That's really quite special. Not in a good way, either.

I'm looking into Geox and Steptronic boots at the moment I'm after something really comfortable underfoot while looking reasonably smart/formal. I usually go with my Anatomic Gel oxfords but I really fancy a chukka boot with a commando style sole in case it snows.

I was walking through Northampton yesterday and stumbled across this former shoe factory:

It's the old GT Hawkins shoe factory near the centre of town. More pictures here:

I appreciated it anyway, and thought my fellow shoe nerds would too...

I saw these in the sale and was thinking about buying them also. I wasn't sure how I'd get on with the lighter sole though. I thought I might even darken it.

Can people be rude about g3org3y's boots to put me offf please, hehe

Does anyone have any steel toe/safety shoes that look half decent? I'm looking for something that looks like an oxford cap or brogue wingtip. Most of the ones I have seen look like something the Elephant Man would wear.

Screwfix do an 'Executive Safety Brogue'.

I rarely wear safety shoes these days - but I am tempted to try those for the occasions I do, as they look much more in keeping with my work attire.

Under what circumstances would you need "nice" safety shoes?

When visiting industrial clients, 80% of the visit is usually meeting in the offices with the management team to present our technology but then we tend to walk through the site and look at the proposed locations for the new equipment. It can be a hassle for the client to go to the other side of the site to source some shoes for me.
