Didn't do the tour

Barkers have a sale on currently priced at around 90 plus discount for multiple pairs. Marked imperfect. Black ones have marking to leather add polish won't be able to tell. Suede ones have a mark to the inside of heel minor.

C&J, fair selection of around 40+ in each size. Mine were 150. Can't see any imperfections.

JW, most impressive selection. Mine were end of line and perfect at 180.

Churchs, around 160 upwards fairly small selection.

Loeb wow priced at 400 plus !

A couple of the shops are hardly more than small rooms and they close quite early on Saturdays.

There's a link and map on another thread

I heard that the prices are down to the factories learning of the power of ebay and in the last few years (4 or so) the prices have gone up a bit, especially Loeb as you have seen, I believe at one point it was minimum £550

I know some of the well known designers manufacture items at cheaper costs specifically for these outlet centres. Doubt it is the case with high end shoes they will just stock the less popular styles.

I did some research on shoe cream/conditioner and my view is that saphir renovateur is THE stuff to use.

I have some and its a great product. I've used it on all my shoes and also on old belts that I was about to throw out. It really bring the leather back to life!

Much appreciated, I'll get some ordered!

Has anyone got a pair of shoes from Anatomic Gel Co?

My local shoe place has these mixed in with the Barkers, Cheaneys, Trickers, etc.

They are the cheapest ones there (about £100 a pair) but the leathers are really soft and they are designed for comfort. I'm tempted as I often have to walk for miles across exhibitions/cites/airports and stiff formal shoes tend to hurt!

Any experiences of these?

I have now picked up a pair of oliver Sweeney shoes in a burgundy colour in a high shine finish.

Now what do I need to pick up to keep this finish and shine?

Usually I would just use kiwi polish, but assume this is not good enough and want to keep these shoes looking at their best whilst I go get another pair of shoes so Im not wearing them 2 days in a row.

They also said something about a product called shipshape which should be used first that they don't sell anymore, hence the initial message.

(It was in the care video)

Seems pretty unhelpful for them to recommend using something that they don't sell any more; weird.

They've never mentioned that product to me whenever I've bought shoes from them.

Shipshape
SoftShoe
BrushUp

Is the recommended list, but as they no longer do shipshape, was wondering if there was anything else I can use.

Did they mention SoftShoe to you and if not, why did they not recommend it, or is it just a gimmick?

No, I've purchased many pairs of shoes from them and they've never mentioned that product.

They've only ever tried to push their normal shoe polish (which is undoubtedly just stuff they've bought in and packaged in their own tins).

Sorry.

Cheers

Went through the heel lining of my Karrimoor KSB's the other week so had to go boot shopping. A bit lairy looking compared to what I'd usually wear but my god they're comfortable. I think it's the only time I've ever bought the first pair I've tried on.

Looking for some views/opinions on the following shoes. I should point out that I hate buying shoes as I dislike 95% of whats on offer - I also seem to have morphed into my dad having started buying the same shoes over and over again as they are comfy (Merrell). Anyway, I went into Clarks today looking for a pair of shoes to go with a suit as they had 20% off - couldn't decide between these two....

A couple of others to try.

The factory shoe shop in the village of Olney between Milton Keynes and Northampton, they have a good stock of Loakes generally and a nice village to walk round.

Also, if you like Dr. Martens, their actory shop is in Wollaston in the same area (ish) a very good range at all times though they aren't to my taste. Half normal shop prices though.
