Could I ask you a quick piece of advice?

I have a barely-worn pair of Grenson brogues which seem to have stained themselves. Do you mind if I message you asking about a possible way to rectify it or maybe if I should speak to Grenson about it?
Guessing here that the stain is around the bottom of the upper, like a tide mark?

I'm looking for a pair of decent dealer / Chelsea boots, preferably a pair that stays smart, I'm not wanting the type that develops to a distressed patina. Plain, non brogued that will polish up. So far, these two have caught my eyes, no affiliation to the shop etc.

And

http://www.pediwear.co.uk/loake/products/226.php

Anyone got any other suggestions, ideally same sort of ballpark price?

Monsieur DeGaulle, have a look on the Loake site and see if there is anything you like.

Also check out Barker's and Grenson's at that price range.

Personally, I would look for Goodyear welted and preferably welted rubber/dainite sole if available.

I can then give you a price, it will be around 25% off list price I guess.

Our site is down at the moment as we are changing our whole epos and website software, and have decided to do it throughout January.
When the site is up and running be sure to let us know. I'd much prefer to send my money to a PH member than a chain like debenhams.

I have a pair of these in brown.

Warm and very comfortable, polish up nicely too.

On one it is, on the other it isn't. The marks appeared at different times. The leather still feels perfect, but I can't remove the marks!

Can you send me a pic via email?

Cheers

Guy
Thanks Guy, I will. The shoes are in my work flat and I will be there during the week so I will take some photos then and describe how it happened.

All the best,
RB

Salt is my guess, I've trashed two pairs of leather soled shoes this way. Wear them on paths that have been salted and an indelible tidemark ensues.

That was my thought, but one was in June and the other was July. Both wet days, but no salt as far as I know. Mud was involved with one, so wet mud letting salt out would make sense, but the other was just a wet day.

My shoes often stain themselves. Usually after I've had a vindaloo.
