Not seconds. They're switching them FOC so should get replacements tomorrow or Wednesday.
Received replacements today. Not the best service - they promised delivery Tuesday or Wednesday - when I called late on Wednesday they apologised and said still not dispatched. Long story short, got them shipped 24 delivery which was here lunchtime.Quality much better though if I'm extremely picky they're not perfect, but good enough - similar to my Loake 1880's I suppose.
Really like the look/design so will be keeping them regardless. Overall fairly happy.

I really like them.
I much prefer a sleeker slimmer design. Just don't like wide bulky shoes at all - not stylish.
Thanks!I much prefer a sleeker slimmer design. Just don't like wide bulky shoes at all - not stylish.
The sleeker shoes tend to be more contemporary or "trendy". The length is usually formed by a combination of a narrow fit AND an elongated toe box. Alternatively, a Church's plain Oxford shoe will have a shorter rounded toe box and look wider in its proportions. This can give a timeless classic look.
I love the appearance of a sleek shoe but find the elongated toe box can cause problems as it essentially makes your foot some 10% longer. This impacts on going up stairs, using the pedals in a car, kicking the back of your shopping trolley, etc

Yeah I've noticed that, it's harder to get a more contemporary look from the Northampton lot (at my price range anyway). The sleeker shoes tend to be more contemporary or "trendy". Thankfully I don't have any problems with stairs

I've only had my new Barker's for a few days and I've already bought a new pair!
I've got a selection of brown shoes now, so I went for a black calf on Goodyear welted rubber sole
Same last as my other Church's which are very comfortable.
We appear to have remarkably similar tastes, good job!I've got a selection of brown shoes now, so I went for a black calf on Goodyear welted rubber sole

Dare I ask how much they were?
