Loake Drake, wanted something a bit sharper without being too classic or conservative...

I really like those, Ive never had a pair of Loakes, is there anything I should know regards sizing, i.e. typically come up small/large/narrow/etc?

Is it a bit sad to get excited when a package arrives at the office and it primarily contains:

Saphir polishes, creams and rejuvenating cream?

Some spray treatment for a new pair of Church's and some polishing brushes?????

I think I need to get out more..... smile

Please say its not just me who loves attractive young women in Docs...

Maybe it just reminds me of student days. OTOH, I wouldn't mind a pair of those myself!

I feel fairly safe posting my new summerwear now:

Plus another pair the same in grey so I can alternate, off camera.

I actually quite like them. They'd go down well with shorts.

Can I have a bit of advice guys?

I normally buy cheap shoes, nice ones, but cheap ones.

I wear them literally 5 days a week all day, and they last me say 3-6 months before they get binned.

I’ve been looking at the Barker Newport in brown today @ £210

http://www.barker-shoes.co.uk/newport/

(im a size 14/15 so choice is seriously limited)

If i "invest" in a pair of these, how long will they last, with daily use?

Happy to spend a few mins a month maintaining them, if that helps?

Just don’t want to spend 5-10 times as much for them to look "worn out" in 6 months, even if the sole can be replaced.

Daily use will result in premature wear. If possible, try to get at least two pairs so you can alternate them.

If you're using them everyday, make sure you get a set of wooden shoe trees (£15-£35?) that you place inside the shoes whenever they're not being worn.

Yes happy to do this, they even come with a pair free when you buy online.
