Just ordered those in brown.

You clearly have impeccable taste too
Nice shoes and excellent fit, a shame I don't like them. In real life, a bit too trendy for me - and the toe is over-long for my taste.
They're going back.

Thanks, never been in a TKMaxx, might have to give it a go. While they're not Church's quality, they're not bad for the money
TK seem to be a bit hit & miss, you may need to visit a few times.
I don't know if this helps, but my eldest son is of the belief the better buys are from TK Maxx located in the more affluent areas (the wealthier parts of society wouldn't be seen in there). He has indeed purchased many designer shoes/sunglasses/fashion items that one maybe wouldn't find in a less wealthy town.
This is true...

I have tried convent garden and its crap and then went to Brixton and the locals don't know what half the stuff is so I get lots of bargains.

So far I have got:

Sebagos for £25
Jeffery West boots for £60
Victorinox carry on bag for £125
Victorinox suit bag for £80

To name a few of the bargains I have picked up.
When my sister used to live in Leyton I always popped into the TK Maxx there and managed to bag all sorts of bargains but the best were a pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans for £30 and a Stone Island trench coat for about £70/£75 which actually had an RRP of £550.

Most of the stores only get one big delivery a week and it's usually the same day, the one in Brixton is a Wednesday so it's worth a visit on the Thursday once all the new stock is out smile
I regularly pick up Diesel jeans for £50 instead of £150+ at the Brixton store.

Are you really?

Funny how one creates and image in one's mind of other posters. I had you down as about 40, relatively slim and fit but needing to watch his weight and with plenty of hair, verging on a mullet.

You are no doubt devilishly handsome despite your hair handicap.

I need to stay away from this thread!

Mrs Slaav and her best mate wanted to go to Bicester this afternoon on the way home - her mate had never been - FOUR fkING HOURS LATER!!!!!!!!! I decided to pop into Chuchs shoes.

Two more new pairs later smile

If we had gone for the splash and dash as planned, wouldn't have bought any.

(Black Consul school shoes and Hong Kong Otterproof brown.)

Good selection today and well worth the visit.

Both pics very much fail the "will most people laugh at me in 5 years" test.
Five years? Five seconds is more likely.

If I am not mistaken the first pair are Gucci horsebit loafers, which have been around since 1953 and have been in production throughout that time without raising too many titters.
The provenance of the footwear doesn't stop the guy looking a bit of a pillock. (I am talking about the pictures of the 2 guys rather than individual shoe pics)
What's wrong with it? Trousers loafers and blazer, it's a classic look. Not the guy in shorts he definitely looks a pollock.

Cheeky bd!

To be fair TY4C. I was just reading that post, and thought it sounded familiar....

Here's the mulleted 40 something chubster, watching his weight at the revival a couple of years back. You can't see, but I was wearing a black Church 'Westbury' monk shoe. wink

I want to see pictures, and makes/names!!
Interesting. I seem to recall you previously ridiculing my (impeccable) shoe taste Mr. Blown2CV wink.

Anyway, as requested...

Edward Green Lowndes in Antique Burgundy (please ignore the G&Gs). Very comfy and extremely well finished.

Locke design Fearnleys from Jones. My first Loakes, and they feel very roomy and airy without feeling particularly over size. Wore them out today and it's a strange feeling. Can't fault them but at size 11 they are a little tight in the peddle box of the c class.
